Yes. Out of the GC candidates, he's got to be the most disappointed.

Yup thats the main thing about this ride, especially Schlecklet losing quite some time on all the opther contenders, most of whom are around the same time, with the exception of LA and Bertie, who always are the better tt'ers, at least if you consider the former to be a contender

Agreed. Doing this at 38 is painful.

It's a ****ing prologue for peace sake!

The fight will take place in the last two weeks, and Lance WILL NOT be fighting for the win then.

Mark my words.

Armstrong looked strong today, nipping AC by 5 sec. AC apologists must be scrambling for clinic references (regarding LA) and allergy medication. Based on today, one could argue that LA is better in TTs than last year.

18, 28, 38 the pain is the same. It is just that you go slower at 38. Or should do.

I think Wigan would be up there with him, afterall he needs as much time out of the mountains as possible

Another winner for today has to be Tyler Farrar. Top ten will net him 5 or 6 pts in the green jersey competition. Kinda like Hushovd, Tyler found an opportunity to take some points to make up for Cavendishs stage wins if Cav comes in with the same form as last year.

When you have an opportunity, you have to take extra points in non sprint situations.

Schleck is a pure climber so him losing time in the prologue tt is more dissapointing than A schleck imo.

How did Menchov go?

LOL. He did look strong today. I would say that the TTs this year favor an Armstrong type rider, more than they favor Contador. As for one of the AC apologist, I expected him to best Contador. No allergies. No clinic stuff. He was the better man on this course. Can't take anything away from him.

I was, however, very impressed with Contador's ride. I expect he will be very pleased with his ride.

Dissapointing riders are in bold. Cobbles will change this anyway so it makes no difference.

Nice ride by G Thomas for position 5. Hoping for him to flex his muscles in the Long TT and put some of these pretenders in their place. Martin, Canc, have so much class but i reckon he can get amongst them again and maybe get a top 3.

Wigans didnt show up, Probably lost too much weight and just not on it for a short TT..

i dont think wiggins performance is too bad news for him. I think it could suggest that the effort he put into transforming himself from tt er to climber is working. He lost 50 seconds today, but he could stay with them in the mountains now. Or he could have messed up completely.

+1

Contador would have to be very happy with his ride. NOt a great course for him. I guess Cadel should be reasonably happy especially as he has done very little tt work from the giro to the tour.

Rogers, Kloden and Leipheimer are not gc contenders as Lance will not let them contend. Rogers is not that good even though he did impress me a bit today.

Here is M.Frank

He has to get stiches in his face according to BMC doctors.
