Something I meant to comment on during the team presentation - how much does FDJ's new jersey suck compared to the old one?! It's terrible! When I first saw one of the riders, I thought they were leading the PT or something.

I want to hurt whoever took away the old jersey.

I know ! When so many jerseys do have room for improvement, why does the team with the best kit decide that they've a compelling need to look like a row of milk cartons? It's even worse than Saur's lovely white kit being dumped for the greeny-bluey mess they now sport.

Still, four more years of FdJ is very good news, and even better if they could become a bit more competitive. And maybe this is just a TdF 2010 SPECIAL EDITION KIT ("Buy Now To Avoid Disappointment !") to celebrate Christophe's renewed assault on ninth place and then, please, the nice clobber will be with us again by the end of the month.

Very surprised at the lack of attacking ambition. The very first attack, allowed to go up the road with only 3 riders.
If the wind doesn't blow, we could be in for a very long day, in more ways than one..........

I've been saying for weeks that nothing would happen here, and it would be nothing like as good as the Giro (which ENDED the stage after these roads, ensuring that they'd be vital, and also included some lesser bike handlers, mostly from places like Colombia and Venezuela, and small Italian climbers), but people kept clinging to their little optimism.

HTC rider (Hansen) crashed, but he's back on his bike.

EDIT: Basso and Millar just crashed. Dog on the road. Both are up and making their way back to the peloton.

akzaaf, i think it is fair to say that the dutch are the craziest loudest cycling supporters I have ever seen. They were quite noisy through the television! How was the atmosphere yesterday?

Millar is wearing green to fit into the Liquigas train.

And what kind of idiot leaves a dog unleashed with a cycling race passing by... unbelievable. Happens too often.

ACF: been watching French tv. Is Frank out?
Something about a fracture.........

Hanson looked to have done big hurt to his CB, but apparently not.

We are at the point where the Giro exploded........

Erasmusbrug was awesome until it started to rain :D
But the TDF is too big for me. I liked the Giro and Vuelta starts better.

Didn't expect to see so many people in Zeeland today though. Pretty cool.

At the Giro they took the bike lane at the other end of the dike... with more wind.

If they go all out here there would be splits, it's just way too far from the finish.

@mellow velo: Frank is out. Broke his wrist or something.

yeah. I see to the right of the peloton there is a big big road next to the sea, with a few cars parked on it and no traffic. That is where i recall seeing the giro. the tdf is using a much thinner road.
