Dear lord. Over/under winning margin of 2 mins?

He soft-pedaled in first part of prologue. He'll unleash hell. If nothing else just to give Froome-Froome a lesson

Under. Wiggins will win, but he's not going to risk anything, despite what he's saying in that guardian article.

Wow, guys already 2 and a half minutes behind Gretsch at the 14km mark. Timegaps will be massive.

Gretsch trying today, sticks a minute in to everyone else at the first check.

You mean everyone else so far hasn't been trying. 18:22 is not fast for 14km, so it's hardly a surprise that it can be bettered by a lot.

Yes, that's why I noted Gretsch is trying; the corollary that no one else is was obvious.

Engoulvent needs to take it a bit easier if he wants to keep the Lanterne, for he was only 45 sec 'ahead' of Ghyselinck at the start, but has made up (lost) 15 at the first check.

A purely mathematical analysis based on the Besancon time trial,
multiplying the time differences from that day by 53.5/41.5 (ie, pro rata for the distances)

Van Garderen would overtake Van Den Brouck for 4th place by just one second

Kloden would move up to 9th place, just 5 seconds ahead of Roche who would also make the top 10.

Rolland and Pinot to drop out of the top ten.

No other changes in top 20.

Of course, that doesn't allow for accumulation of injuries/fatigue/motivation, or for anything that adversely affected performance 12 days ago.

Mathematical final GC
Wiggins
Froome @ 2:50
Nibali @ 5:24
Van Garderen @ 9:55
VDB @ 9:56
Evans @ 12:09
Zubeldia @ 13:11
Brajkovic @ 14:08
Kloden @ 16:51
Roche @ 16:56
Rolland @ 17:27
Pinot @ 18:28
Horner @ 21:19
Sorensen @ 21:33
Menchov @ 25:39
Montfort @ 27:18
Martinez @ 32:15
Costa @ 32:54
Vorganov @ 37:37
Valverde @ 39:00

Froome to win by 2 minutes and 10 seconds

Wiggins to say after the race Froome is indeed an extra-terrestrial. After hearing the news, the brothers Vanendert finally confirm they are indeed from Saturnus, and wonder where Froome is from exactly.

Imagine the air inside the Sky Team Bus if that did happen. And would Wiggins try to get the 4 sec back tomorrow?

I am sure if Froom would be well ahead at the 2 time check they would make hi soft pedelaing

That would be something. Sky's PR machine would just crank up the new message, perhaps 1984 style rewriting history. "As we said all along, the goal was to bring Chris to Paris in yellow. Another box ticked."

Miller mentioned he would race against DZ 2moro so maybe they take it seriously.

Well... they made a bet!
Or... Millar made a bet and just decided to interpret DZ's reaction as a confirmation. :p

At least the loser will only have to publically state his inferiority, unlike the earlier bet between Greipel and Hansen.

No way. Anyway, no point discussing it really. Wiggins will destroy all life - including Froome - today!
