He would have attacked where Kruijswijk attacked and stayed away, would be my guess.
Would have been a completely different story. Poland field is completely different than Bernal, Roglic, Nairo, and JV with numbers. They would have immediately reacted,

Alaphilippe, Bardet, Pinot, Gaudu...I don't honestly think any of them will win it but at least if you're wanting a French winner you're always going to have someone to support. The guy with the best chance for me is Alaphilippe if he ever decided to focus on GT.

The US has what, Kuss? McNulty?

in this video, you can see that he did not intentionally elbowed FJ, his elbow got stuck in FJs handlebars. It does not change the fact, that his previous move was dangerous and he should be banned for some time. I have seen worse line changes, fortunately with not so severe consequences.
In the video you posted(sec 1) you can see clearly that DG intentionally elbows FJ handlebars.
