this race does not suit them at all. hardly any hills.

If Astarloza and/or Verdugo have any semblance of form (which is probably unlikely) either could potentially squeak into the top 10

The 'Turbo' was referring to Turbo-Durbo Luke Durbridge. I assume the 'Diesel' from the following post was simply word play. ~3-4km flat, non-technical, should be good for Durbridge, but I hadn't noticed Geraint Thomas was listed which another poster brought up, so I think he'd be a great chance as well.

you assume wrong . .. i was talking about Thomas Dekker :p

Isn't it the exact same prologue? Of course he can repeat. It's mostly luck that separates the top-10.

Last year's prologue was in Martigny, this year is in Lausanne, so I highly doubt that it is the same prologue

Thomas, Durbridge, Bobridge, Kwiatkowski, Castroviejo, Alex Rasmussen, Westra, Larsson....good competition even for the prologue :D

The prologue could create very high average speeds.
It's totally flat, wide roads and 3,3km with 3 corners.
So i guess to win this you need to ride well above 50km/h in average
Should be ideal for riders with 4000m track expierence.

isn't it sufficient, he will prove it to you all in the giro first TT. 7 seconds is a pretty big gap, against well known prologue riders like Thomas, EBH, Millar, Rasmussen and Boom.

thats the only example isn't it?

and to say he would win, no competition is slightlyoverstating it when you see the riders on the startlist. but it is all academic as Phinney isn't even riding.
