I think D_T recently remarked that Westra felt didn't have good legs in LBL. He must have carried them into Romandie.

He mentioned on twitter that hes completely fried.

At Vuleta he recovered from them about 1.5 month ago, here he's just recovered 2-3 weeks and that's different ;)

Tbh I am happy this happend to him this time of year and not later, which should mean he should be at peak during Tour :)

From the sounds of it he never actually fully recovered, cos they found them again, so they were luckily for him dormant and ineffective enough during the four or five weeks he was incredible. Just think, had they come back during the first week of the Vuelta, or had the symptoms not died down until a bit later so he wasn't arriving at the race in full form, he could have lost his ride at Sky and be on the scrapheap, instead he gets a GT podium, puts in a storming ride at the Worlds and gets a nice new contract at much more than he would otherwise have done.

Then the bilharzia kicks back in and ruins everything again.

:mad:Doesnt look good for Froome, it seems this Belaharzia is similar to malaria in that even if you recover it tends to crop up in your system from time to time, without you ever being totally being rid of it cba to check it up but thats how it looks to me.

I have troubles in understanding why he needs to recover from schistosomiasis once per year.
In my experience of bilharzia, you take praziquantel and the parasytes won't breed again. You might wanna take it again after 12 months to keep them in check but at that point the disease should be completely asymptomatic.

Is there a link where I can read anything about it? I'm truly curious.

I love the undertones of your posts about Froome. :)

Sky needed a day like that after their disappointing Classics campaign.

I'm assuming we can now all finally have the grace to admit that our World Champ can do a little more than put his nose into the wind for a couple of hundred meters and put that to bed, once and for all?

I was there today - bitterly cold with wind coming across the lake from the French Alps and the rain started around 4:30. It was not surprising that those who rode on a dry road benefited, though they all had to contend with the crosswind on the run along the lake shore.

The weather forecast for the next few days looks much better - finally warming up.

5 rabo's in the top 20

i don't get the fuzz about cavendish, he's been top 5 in plenty of 2/3km prologue's. It's normal when it's that short.
