A much contested claim by a few clubs I believe, highly controversial stuff, but I'm going with Great Yarmouth?

Maybe Bramall Lane but I think that was formerly a cricket ground?

Bramall Lane was built in 1855.
Initially mostly cricket, but was also used for football (e.g. final of Youdan Cup, 1867, the first ever football tournament, won by Hallam FC).
Sheffield Utd were founded in 1889 with Bramall Lane as their home ground.
Cricket use ended 1974/5, when the South Stand was built over what had been the square.

Hallam FC have been playing at their original ground since 1860, but they didn't make the league when it was set up and have remained a small local club ever since. I used to walk past the ground to/from school every day.

Why do you think so? It's 40km's from the last climb to the finish. Stage 1 and 2 Catalunya he was still there, and stage 1 had almost as much altitude in it. In a different way though, here there are longer climbs.

tomorrow's stage is much shorter than today's. also the stage starts with 2 longer climbs. which invite attacks from the peloton. Visma also does not have the team to control the entire stage by itself. after the last climb it is 30km flat to the finish. the lead will either be too big for the breakaway or other teams will ride and then the pace will be much higher.

Don't know why a bunch of breakaway guys didn't lose 20 minutes on purpose today, just trackstand near the finish like Lenny Kamna used to do. Now it's going to get a much shorter leash.

My team also had that boast at one point. We might now have the oldest temporary stand...

Brennan's jump is really impressive.

Tomorrow rival teams should really try to drop Brennan in that second category climb some 30km before the finish otherwise he will win again.

Brennen is a very exciting driver. It's nice to see how he drives. Uncompromising. Courageous. Not afraid of failure, but always with an eye on the opportunity: Only those who try can win.

Venturini, for example, was completely different today. While Brennen starts, he sits on the rear wheel of his Arkea-helper and even skips a few kicks. But you can't win a race like that. At this point you have to start when you notice that the rider before you is slowing down. No matter how far it is. Because if you don't start, or even worse, skip a few kicks, you've definitely lost. By the time he was up to speed again, it was all over.

One of the Swiss commentators on SRF is speaking with a thick Swiss German dialect, I can't understand a word but it's kind of hypnotizing.

That's former pro Sven Montgomery. 👍
He speaks the same dialect as Hirschi or Cancellara, but waaay slower.

Btw.: Hearing flandrian Dutch has the same effect on Swiss German people: you think you can decipher some words, but actually you don't understand anything at all!

Looks normally like a breakaway stage to me today, with a weak team leading, that also has the favorite for the sprint. But no gaps in GC will make it difficult to find the right composition of the group. Also because the stage starts with 10k at 7% or sth like that.

This would have been one of those Albasini stages with a reduced bunch sprint.

Can't see why several teams shouldn't come out and race this from the get go. Subtracting the TT and Thyon 2000 stage, we only have today and an uphill sprint tomorrow. Its like a multistep countdown to nothing for many teams, if they don't get going.

Don't know what happened to Jan Christen but yesterday he was suffering a lot.
I don't know if it is wishful thinking but hard to see a rider, other than João, winning this race.

Which teams?

UAE: Will be fighting it out in Thyon and the time trial.
Soudal: Same with Remco
Ineos: Same with Carlos Rodriguez
Bahrain: Same with Lenny Martinez
Visma: Interested in the sprint

If they go for the sprint today, Brenan will win, but there are really few teams interested in trying to break the race on a day like today.

Only teams like LIDL remain; yesterday a LIDL rider went into a break. The teams fighting to avoid relegation will be content with a sprint to the finish and scoring points in the top 10.

It’s probably the camera bike was doing something wrong
