They didn't need to film Zijlaard the entire distance, it would have been perfectly normal to also film Almeida and especially across the finish line.

I think it's great that they show the complete course in the beginning. It's probably also exactly the reason why Zijlaard started 2nd and not 1st. Can't think of any other reason but TV demand, at least.

right away indeed. According to SRF, Suter crashed in the very first corner.
