UAE is very weak in this race, as we saw today. Pogacar arrived alone in that group, while there were 3 Bora riders (plus Roglic earlier, four) or five Astana .

A large breakaway would have won the stage today. But they preferred to go for the sprint. Pogacar won, but they would have been content to lose against Godon anyway.

and 5 Astana
I think a big breakaway would have won today.

Why does Astana need five riders in that sprint? :tearsofjoy:
UAE couldn't control everything today, and INEOS wouldn't have been able to contorl a large breakaway either.

BORA's problem, as it has been all year, is that they are the strongest team and have four riders in for the overall classification. They almost never have the strongest rider, but due to they have so many riders in the general classification, they can't really rely on breakaways.

Someone on Bora needs to intentionally drop from GC to then go for a stage win via a breakaway.

It's the D-team, but probably they were also told to save energy today.

Today's stage was a big fail by Ineos. It was obvious that UAE were happy for the break to get the victory, so Ineos needed to put Godon in the break. I found their tactics to be baffling!
