Perhaps, but I think a lot of 'tactics' discussions just stem from not actually knowing what the aims of the teams are and so not having anything to assess tactics against.

If Red Bull's aim is a take a punt to beat Pogacar, cause chaos, and win stages, this made sense. If their aim is a GC podium, this did not.

Lipo was obeying the team.
What is not normal is the usual help Pogacar has.
Bora has still 2 card and it is the best for them.
“You need brains and courage.”, and Lipo had courage to follow Pogacar on the climb.

Pogacar said with headwind no good to be alone, maybe he has just to put half a minute on the rest and maybe useless, or big effort for almost nothing even if he get some seconds.

His victoiry has big merit after to win a demanding edition of Liege.

It is almost sure Pogacar is going to win GC, but luckily for the race, it is still not sure and the rest are not yet figteen for second.

Roglic and Tuckwell dropped like stones on the climb. I don't think "tactics" can change anything in this race, but we shall see.

Again - he’s won the stage, won 3 monuments and ridden 6 race days or whatever and your conclusion from today is that he’s not in good climbing shape?

Only he knows how hard he went on the climb, to me it did not look like he was going anywhere near maximal effort. I’ll eat my hat if he’s not ridding away at the end of the week.

I think for once RBH drove tactically well. Other than Martinez comoletely bonking.

Rogla marked Pogacar's attack and rode with Lipowitz for a while before dropping into the second group. In the end they both got free rides in their groups.
I don't even think that Lipo was able to take any pulls in front group today. He was inch close to lose a wheel on few occasions even on flat.

That was likely the best way for him to handle the sprint. Had he not gone to the front he could easily have been outsprinted and gotten a time gap to the others. Now they had to pass him and he got the same time.

Picnic are pitching Gaffuri way too high given their points issues. He has the numbers to rack up points in .Pro/.1 races but they basically only send him to WT races or Trentino, which is quite close.
