Ive never understood Rogla, ever.. He dont attack, he just sits there with his watts control .. Never attacks. Adrenaline is the legal doping in Cycling remember ..
I think he and Lipowitz rode pretty smart today.
If Rogla didn't close that gap after Pogis acceleration I think he wouldn't be seen again. Roglic probably went to red there like everyone else not named Seixas would do and dropped back to pace Lipowitz for a while. After Lipowitz was able to close the gap it was free ride to finish for both RBH riders.

If Pogacar is beatable here their best bet is to make him spent much more energy and hope that it pays off.

Pog aint beatable in this race, thats one. Lipo not pulling to get his lesser to win pal closer in the game dont make sense in any logic. He could secured his second place better. If he wanted to win anything he could maybe try to ... jump them. WHen i was a cyclist back in the day before u where born we used to do the same , but then we saved our power for a jump.. Not a bum from behind.. xD

Everyone agrees that Pogacar is unbeatable, barring illness or crashes.
But at wich point RBH riders could attack and make any gains out of it? UAE train started the climb so fast that only Pogacar is able to launch from that. Or should Lipowitz who almost lost the wheel again before the end of the climb attack? He would have only bonked and lost lot of time to his podium rivals.

Well, Lipo was 3s behind Pogi in prologue and now after arguably the hardest climb in the race is 7s behind, mostly due to bonuses. Plus he rested the most and only came short of beating Pogi in the sprint.

So first of all why would be Pogi unbeatable? And second of all i read articles, commentators went on and on about it and some fans are saying it. On how stupid RBH raced and on how they could have got more.

Now that tells you something about how much understanding of cycling most really have.

Yeah, 21s. Reasonably good and still in the game. Compare that to some predictions, on where he basically retired already.

He will attack when that will make sense to do so.
I have a very strange feeling that he is just training and gauging the immediate competition. He's certainly not hurting Lipowitz when it appears he could move on to the next group.
Wouldn't surprise me that he becomes a surprise entry for RBH in a 3 week race no on thinks he want to do. Especially if there is some attrition with the current/flavor of the week top three. He casually does a sprint prologue within seconds of the win; surfs the first stage helping a teammate and cruises into the finish. That's not retirement; that's team leadership and very chill fitness. Can't figure him out at all.

is it just me or do you feel the itch of a bot invasion on this small forum? Gotta get me some off shore antibiotic lotion.

it's quite a lot of up and down, but no real need for Pogacar to attack early on - and can he really shake off Godon then on a final climb like this?

2k to go from the top to the finish (first downhill, then flat)
