The islands still exist. But the legal construction of the 'Netherlands Antilles' no longer exists, hence it would be weird if they still had a sport federation which awards Nats or things like that.

Why are the favs bowing the overall classification like that? They can not afford to loose more then 1:30 today. Where do they want to win it back?

Curaçao is now an independant nation. The other Antilles are now 'speciale gemeenschappen' of the Netherlands.

Curacao isn't independent. It's still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but as an autonomous country within the Kingdom.

For the Brits among us, think Turks and Caicos.

The gap is around 4 minutes over the summit. Still looking OK for the breakaway, they ought to pull out a bit more on this soaking wet descent.
