Not regarding st 1, but the race in general:

Contador is 7,5 kg above his optimal weight, and didnt impress on the latest training camp where a Danish amateur beat him in an uphill-test. So maybe we shouldnt expect to much from him this early. But then again, Contador usually goes for the win when he participates in a win:

Regarding st. 1 think JJ must be very motivated and maybe better prepared than alot of the others for obvious reasons.
He was saying stuff like that last year too but started off quite well anyway.

Indeed. And tbh I dont think he is lying I just think that Contador has such a winner-mentality that he just cant help himself going for the win, and he is talented enough that he can actually almost always meddle in for the win even when in "bad" shape.

Yeah, Guardini is the man to beat today! :D

He was a bit of risk as I didn't know much about him. But seeing him in the tour of turkey was something special.

Well there's actually a genuine risk that he will be dropped on the cat 3 climb with 150 km to go, unless he has improved his climbing this year...

7.5 kgs is a hell of a lot of weight. I think I will tip Nibbles to win this.

Weird. Two weeks ago he said he weighed ~64 kilos. That was before camp. Based on how he looks, I'd say he's sandbagging again. That or he hides his weight gain better than anyone I know (maybe he's wearing a Spanx). :p:D

It's no good take 8 kg even if you lose it later. Ullrich started to do the same after his first Tour win... and always was 2 kg over;)

I read in Velonation that he lost 4 at Canary training camp but it's not enough.

I remembered he was too thin at Tour de France, probably is a natural reaction from that, when he went to California he so fat:D

You're right. When he received his weight in honey he got 135 kilos of honey, which was his weight (64 kilos) + the 6 bikes he won his grand tours with and a extremely heavy traditional cape. Either the scales were not that accurate, or he is, as you say, sandbagging again. Let's not forget he always downplays his chances in the early season.

He doesn't have anything to hide because with a weight gain of 7.5 kilos (or 3.5, because he's lost 4) he would still not have a paunch.

Contador knows he can't beat Cadel in July so he has said "**** it, I am just going to eat **** loads of steak and Burritos". That's why he has put on 7.5kg :D

:) I hate ppl who keep on *****ing and moaning about it. Alberto is awesome and as long as he doesn't confess, I won't believe he doped.

Edit: 900th post so... ALBERTO! <3

My bad.

Even the Olimpic Comittee posted a warning for all the athletes about Clenbuterol and eating meat in England for the JJOO... wonder why?
