New question then, if we're taking performances from a 34 year old as a guide to a 38 year old.

At what point are Levi's legs going to simply give way. He's at the age Lance just didn't have anything left now.
Levi's career only really took off when he was 30 or thereabouts. Same with Horner. These guys are late bloomers (non-clinic explanation).

But expecting a 38 year old to continue at a standard comparable to one set 4 years ago versus riders that are now in their prime is not very reasonable or rational. As was stated earlier, a time comes when the 38+ year old legs begin to show the wear and tear of the years of competition.

It was a reaction to someone saying that a mountain TT might be problematic for Levi. His TTs are still pretty good, his climbing as well, so I don't see why.

Horner once beat Lance in a criterium in San Diego in 1991, but could not get a pro gig until 1995 and that was only PAA-Nutra Fig. I think he beat Frankie A. in US amateur Nationals somewhere in between and landed a spot on Française des Jeux 97-99, but came back to the and dominated the US circuit on Mercury etc..Saturn form 2000-2004, then back to Europe and Davitamon-Lotto 2005 and won a stage of the Suisse. The to Astana in 2008....In his case, he less a late bloomer than he just unrecognized. I admire his determination.I think he still has something to prove. Levi is a different story.

Sorry:eek: Levi thread....
