Trouble is, this pass leads to a 20km downhill, followed by a slightly descending 30km road, so anyone off the back will probably get back on before the short climb at the end.

Question is what groups they are broken into

A large group - yes - but they might be in groups of 4-5, and thus have problems gaining on each other much.

what a stupid stage design this is. And then I saw tomorrows stage.

LOL. Wtf has happened. This course is possibly even easier than the one Cancellara won. A Tony Martin from 3/4 years ago could've won here

Wellens DNF. Something going on. It was already weird how he responded to Sagan's attack on stage 3 and got dropped like a brick almost immediately.

Disappointing, that none of the other teams put pressure on Porte on the decent.

They should test him on exactly that, a day like today....
Apparently nobody cares about the race except for putting some miles. Additionally this route is really, really bad and doesn't help the cause.

Its good training for July since its relatively decent length of the stages and that there are no flat stages, but 3 km on Arosa simply isn't enough to know where you stand. Of course theres also the TT and the 'MTF' yesterday..

He's quitted the Giro being exhausted before evne the final week, and now this. I think he might have pfeiffer or something

Yeah, he should have been fully rested from the Giro if it wasn't a big deal that caused him to quit. I hope his season ain't over.
