No. They just want to take absolutely no risks for TDF and olympics. Think they learned from Tirreno
I mean that was my point as well. I suppose he could easily go on with the race, but what's the point to do it with 2 mountain stages and a tt left.

Yeah, UAE will have 6 riders with Pogi in the climbs like they did in 2020!

Tbf, they're coming in with a stronger team this year imo. Not sure what the final 8 is but something like Pog, Majka, Formolo, McNulty, Polanc, Hirschi, Bjerg, Kristoff is a very strong team and they won't be easy to attack. Never mind that Ineos will be attacking not just them but Jumbo too.

Palzer wearing his red bull helmet? does this mean Van Aert and Pidcock can too? or are they constantly on tv, so they have to wear team brand?
They (Pidcock and Wout) aren't allowed to wear Red Bull helmets because Red Bull is not an official sponsor of the team. Palzer is allowed, because when Bora signed him, they also reached a (at this point minor) sponsor agreement with Red Bull.

There's been some rumours about Red Bull sponsoring Bora in the future, to a bigger degree, for some time now.

Strong enough group coming after Ala now who if they all make contact could make things very interesting

Schachmann back in but that doesn't bode well for rest of today and the next two days being dropped so early today

Sounds like the gap is being held in check at about a minute, but maybe the faster pace means the remaining climbing is a bit more impactful than expected

I guess papi Horner will personally find Ala and super-duper violate him. As with many Ala moves i don't understand them. After Gottardpass there are like 60-70k flat and you only have Cattaneo against most of the peloton. WTF!?

Pretty clear he's not getting much out of the race any other way so why not do something a bit ambitious? :D
Ala have/had a very good chance of winning this stage and with that Oberalpass TT that i believe he may do well he could think of a top 3 GC. Right now their best placed and seems like best form riders (Ala & Cattaneo) are burying themselves on a long flat portion in the middle of the stage. Maybe they both have more strength than it looks like. We'll see.
