The finish to the stage is very hard. I doubt almeida losses more than 2 minutes if he attacks on the last climb. Also cooperation could break down in the group because of break-aways from the breakaway.

I do think giving guys like Vauquelin, O'Connor, Gregoire and a few others in that several minutes of a headstart is dumb as hell. This route isn't selective enough in high mountains for Almeida to make enough of a difference on some of those guys if they do a good TT

They obviously set the odds before the breakaway went clear. There is quite a serious climb and Almeida is the best climber. Who else would you give favourite status to?
