He had a back wheel puncture, got a new wheel, then when he was getting started again, it turned out he also had a front wheel puncture! He then just got a new bike.

Well that wasn't a surprise on this final, but who were they riding for then tho lol. Van Gils I guess but he hasn't been that strong this week.

I really don't get Intermarchés tactis today. They bring the gap back to 2 minutes mid race, then stop riding. Gap back upto 6 minutes again and then don't help Bingoal and FDJ, neither AG2R in the end. Girmay could've won this stage easily.

Lotto's tactics were also a bit weird tho. I guess they hoped Van Gils to be stronger and move up in GC (only way to get extra points).

I was impressed how De Lie split the peleton on the final climb - I can see Classics with this rider - Intermarche's tactics were baffling.

Ballerini another very close friend of Fausto Masnada. They were together in Androni for 2 years and 3 in Quickstep. Often roommates and training together. Very nice to see him win and also bodes well for the form of Fausto

He was also clearly stronger than Cattaneo and Bagioli at the Italian NC,he could have gotten a spot on the Tour team over some riders who were clearly not in great shape.

Problem was he did the Giro and some classics in June as well, a guy like ballerini on a team like quickstep is not doing Giro + Tour and he would probably get burned out.
