Not sure why Wanty isn't controlling this tbh. For Vliegen (boni's to win the GC) or for Girmay (you can definitely drop De LIe on that last hill).

CLose but not enough for Skjemose. Strongest in the race today tho. Apart from Skjelmose jumping to 2nd place (well if there's a gap), no changes in GC I think.

Mindblowing that Intermarché didn't control today tho.

Ballerini wins, don't think Skjelmose ended up with a gap. Girmay wins the sprint for fifth, no idea why Intermarché weren't helping AG2R...

I really don't get Intermarchés tactis today. They bring the gap back to 2 minutes mid race, then stop riding. Gap back upto 6 minutes again and then don't help Bingoal and FDJ, neither AG2R in the end. Girmay could've won this stage easily.

Lotto's tactics were also a bit weird tho. I guess they hoped Van Gils to be stronger and move up in GC (only way to get extra points).

Ballerini another very close friend of Fausto Masnada. They were together in Androni for 2 years and 3 in Quickstep. Often roommates and training together. Very nice to see him win and also bodes well for the form of Fausto

He was also clearly stronger than Cattaneo and Bagioli at the Italian NC,he could have gotten a spot on the Tour team over some riders who were clearly not in great shape.

Problem was he did the Giro and some classics in June as well, a guy like ballerini on a team like quickstep is not doing Giro + Tour and he would probably get burned out.

15 riders up the road, including Ballerini again, Trentin, Theuns, Turner and Casper Pedersen. 3:25 up on the peloton as they approach the sole KOM. Closest rider on GC is Peyskens at 3:51.

A minute left for the break. De Lie splitting the bunch himself on one of the cobbles sections. Still a long way to go tho.
