Yeah, I think they'll ban him for two years without scrapping any results.

I don't know if that's possible without a complete new series of legal proceedings by Valverde. This mainly because the officials have time and time again stated that it was concerned with making the Italian ban world-wide, which would include the time-period, otherwise you would create the situation that Valverde is banned for 2 years from a certain point throughout the world, but that the ban on which the banning is based has already expired

Meh. I won't be watching any races he is in until he is banned anyway. If he doesn't get banned I may as well not bother with cycling at all.

Strong stance. So you won't watch the Tour if nothing happens by then?

today is a great day. Valverde on the top of another podium.

Nobody can stop him. If he is banned he will return and will win again. Pure class.

Well, what did we learn from Romandie that's new? One or two things.
Basso is really riding clean.:D
Spilak is set to do a "Cunego" on............Cunego.
Anton is great going up and Sh*t coming down. (quelle surprise)
Brajkovic is the opposite of Anton.
Rogers? Well, no comment, cos he reads this forum.

Valverde is clever in all departments.

Wait, what? Rogers reads this forum?

However another thing I learned:
Roche is a good time trailer: Thibaut Pinot will become a really competent rider who in the future might go for some stage victories, or single day event victories. And he is currently in a superb form

Do we have evidence of this? Confirm?

There was some twitter comment he made that implied he might have read something here, but it was by no means conclusive.

Rogers on twitter:
To all the internet cycling forum experts commenting on Cameron Meyer's future GT possibilities. Leave the kid alone, he's only 22 years old
This after a thread on said rider's GT possibilities had just been started.

I wouldn't really find it that surprising if some professionals read this/other forums once in a while. Many of them spend a lot of time on the internet when they are just chilling anyway.

No podium for Rogers. So, Anton jumps from 500 meters out after sitting on for 7k? And it was quite a pathetic attempt. He doesn't even get more than a bike length or two and then just leads out for Valverde for 400 meters.

Did you expect otherwise?

Come on, Anton is a pure climber, when the road is not uphill he doesn't stand a chance against a renowned finisher like Valverde. He does not have the punch on the flat needed to surprise the others. This was his only chance.

Wattie - are you just as upset about Constantino Zaballa's win in the Vuelta a Asturias, or are you yet another of these who will cry and moan about Valverde whilst ignoring all of the others still out there? What is it about Valverde that makes him so much worse than everybody else who never had to face justice? At least Valverde has some kind of justice hanging over his head, even if it's poorly-applied.

What Anton should have done is trying to cut off Valverde by nearly pushing him into the barriers like he did in 2007 in Morgins

I just wanted his attempt to be smarter. Did you watch it? He should have waited until much later.

Wow, that's some recall... At least Thomas crushed him the following day, right?

I watched it. But Anton is not explosive on the flat. Valverde would've countered him with ease. Now he could at least hope dat Valverde would hesitate a moment to see if the other guys were reacting.
