It's rather poor for Wippert not to contest for top positions in sprints for 2nd day in row in this field. He should be able to beat comfortably anyone but Gaviria here.

Did something happen to him today? Yesterday the team stated that he was stopped by the crash but if you look at the video you see he was nowhere near close enough to the front to contest for the top places anyway.

Gaviria!

Can't wait to see him in a Grand Tour.

Frankly, I'm even excited to see how he fares at MSR, distance be damned. I thought I read somewhere that he would be on the start list.[/quote

He's going to start overthere. It's his main goal of the season before he returns to the track to focus on the Olympics.

He will first do track worlds next week, I think he wont return to the track after MSR, he will do two belgian classics he said somewhere and do the tour of California I believe. I think he won't do a lot of specific track preparation for Rio just like he didnt do it for the upcomming Worlds.

Do you have any source for those Belgian classics? Very curious, would be amazing to see him in Flanders.

On EQS's homepage on his rider profile it states that his favorite race is Paris-Roubaix, so it wouldn't surprise me, if they at least test him somewhere on the cobbles. ;)

Yes I do, http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/knee-injury-no-longer-troubling-gaviria-ahead-of-tour-de-san-luis/ but this 1 is pretty old there is also a more recent one that I cannot find back at the moment it was from an interview on an Italian or Spanish/Colombian site. However what he said was about the same.

"After San Luis I will return to Colombia for the national championships. When I arrive in Europe in February, I will race Haut Var and La Provance. Then I hope to gain selection for the Colombian team at the track World Championships," he said.

"Later I will go to San Remo, and then I will travel to Belgium to do one or two classics and then I will return to Colombia before I go to do California, and then I hope to do the Olympic Games."
