Roelandts was super strong, i didin't expect him to survive today and he managed to beat all those stronger climbers  MSR in his sight ? or maybe even Het Volk.
Starting at TDU(Roelandts, Greipel) or at San Luis(Peraud, Cav in Qatar) can make a big difference. Most riders who've raced on the southern hemisphere already have good form.

I hope so. He has had his bad share of injuries in these last classics seasons. I hope he can perform at the monuments. Lotto doesn't have much options so he has space. Maybe co-lead with Greipel at San Remo and Bak at Roubaix.

He didn't beat all the climbers, he was away with a 5 man group. Mollema won the sprint behind.

Nonetheless, he did survive the course before, so he's certainly got the form for the early classics.

Kind of the same as on Faron then, Mollema won the sprint behind there too. He said he felt strong in the last K yesterday but Peraud/Reda who escaped at the foot of the climb were already too far gone.

Maybe Mollema should start taking more risks?

Last time Mollema did a real attack he won, two years ago in Poland. He's only capable of climbing well if he can suck wheels, I hope he can change that in the future. He could've won more if he took a risk once in a while.

Donno if mentioned already, but Rebellin wrote on fb that him and half of his team suffered intestinal problems during the race and he was dissapointed as he thought he could do even better.

Actually dozens of riders on different teams suffered from stomach problems

Very good result by Roche finishing 5th although he had stated that he would be disapointed not to make the podium. I know it is early in the year and the competition wasnt as strong as other races but there are early signs of significant improvement and so far it has been the best finish of all the Saxo-Tinkoff riders apart from Alberto in San Luis. Hopefully he can take his form onto Paris-Nice and take a stage/contend for overall. Right now in his career he should focus on trying to win week long stage races and GT stages as opposed to GC which will come in time.

Regarding monfort, i realised that he always does best when not under pressure. All his good performances were when he wasnt pressured ie. The vuleta top ten. His tt result.

good performances by colombians, their first race and in abysmal weather conditions.
 Patano sprints to 4th out of a 5 man group. That's all, as far as Colombia is concerned in this race.

The conditions are the same for everyone.

Did they make an impact on this race? No they didn't. Team GC is meaningless.

Based on this race you can hardly say they had a good winter.
