Just a shame they're world-tour.

They're going to be a total waste of space at so many races this year.

You should be used to that by now. Euskaltel is a total waste of space in many many races as well. It's not like there are better substitutes out there, so doesn't really matter that much.
Europcar get all the invites they want, so all is fine in the world.

“I’ve already had a call seeing if he’s available for this year and that’s from one of the best teams in the world,” Smith told Cyclingnews.

Looks like Riis has found his replacement for Contador. :D

Of course it can be Saxo - who has been among the top teams in the world for some time now. Just because they currently clearly aren't rider wise, doesn't mean Brian Smith can't label them that.

It would actually make perfect sense, especially when considering Riis' signing policy lately.

A couple of years ago Riis would scout a rider massively before signing a contract, at this point it seems like almost everything goes, as long as it gives Saxobank PR in a new country.

And I'm sure this JTL fellow fits in nicely...... (not that I've personally heard of him before TD Med)

Such a massive result for JTL and for Endura. OK, the stages were shortened and the startlist not amazing but still better than any other race the team and JTL have won before. They also deserve credit for trying to enliven the race a bit, unlike Greenedge (because it was too cold FFS) and that idiot Madiot's team.

Yes they raced well.

GE were probably unaccustomed to the conditions but they would not have been enlivening the race by pulling for a sprint:). FDJ had the leader in stage 2 as well.

This should be a massive step forward for the team to go on and win more and also give them great exposure to step up next year.

However, after a terrific result I find it depressing that the mainstream news and sport outlets (BBC, Sky, newspapers, etc) have failed to even mention it. They'll happily mention wins for Cavendish (or him crashing) and Armstrong coming 2nd in a crappy Ironman competition but not for a British victory in the race.

It really saddens me that coverage of all non Sky/World tour races is pretty non existent. I just hope they get the exposure they deserve over the coming days, weeks and months.

They were quite confident in JTL. Rene Mandri, one of the races in Endura team, wrote in his blog day before last stage, that his job is to bring JTL to the foot of Mt Faron and then launch "the bullet" (aka JTL). Well, Faron, was cancelled, but they won anyway. Mandri added that next their next race is Haut Var and goal is same: to help JTL win.
