Cav went way too early but too strong for Viviani, looked like Cav got a 2nd kick when Viviani came alongside. unbelievable work from Pettachi! Good signs for the future.

who'd have thought Petacchi would be such a good lead out man... wonder with Renshaw being there next year what'll happen

lookng at the overhead Cav just seemed to be half sprinting, and only picked it up when Viviani came to his wheel...

guess the cobbles had something to do with that....

Wow, Viviani was swerving all over the road, kind of scary.

I think on a smooth road he would have beaten Cavendish.

He did move across on a slight bend but it was a big change of direction. From the overhead it looked like Viviani got the lead with about 30m to go but then slipped a bit?

Cav should get demoted for not keeping a straight line but of course he wont

Left Viviani enough room though and pulled away again at the end. Cav too strong.

His back wheel slipped on the cobbles, had to sit down for a moment and lost it there.

Looked like he hit a pot hole, good skills to stay upright.

I don't know what it is with Viviani, but he always does his most impressive sprints coming from a really bad position to get 2nd or 3rd.

Yeah just seen the replay, Viviani's very nearly lost it. I'm calling it 'clever' riding from Cav using his experience of this finish to make sure Viviani had to go on the tougher side. Pettavhi's lead out was just awesome, add Renshaw and Cav has got his dream lead out.

He does seem to be a bit all over the place, and not just on the cobbles. He was a bit wild on stage 4. If he could channel a bit of that energy into going in a straight line he might do better!
