Good effort from the AG2R rider but he probably didn't clock the finish is every so slightly uphill and he tied up a bit at the end.

Close for Kooij, but all in all a nice sprint. He was blocked a bit, but able to get out right on time

Gudmestad had the jump on him.

Brennan apparently is the Ayuso of leadouts, not that good when he has to work for someone else ;)
At least he clearly was there and trying. It was a pretty ropy lead out and Kooij had to battle through to get a sprinting lane and only just pinched it on the throw.

Oops, Norway have more riders in the world's top 200 than Denmark. (And Gudmestad isn't even close to being in the top 200.) The Danes are sleeping on this - they have a handful of strong riders, but are weak in the second row. (I would be surprised to see a Danish top result in Britain.)

I think Visma went a little too hard too early and so the third guy had to start his turn too early. When he was done there was still about 6-700 meters to go so I think that Brennan tried to dial it back just a little so that he could bring Kooij all the way to about 250 meters. He over corrected and they began to get swarmed so Kooij had to find his own way through. I think it goes back to about 3 1/2 K to go when Visma got a little over aggressive for the numbers they had left.
