The Tour of Britain has long had problems with placement of obstacles - lots of overhype of difficult climbs placed way too far from the finish to be effective and so on in several editions - but Cornwall is a lot like Brétagne in France - lots of twisty roads, no real major climbs but a lot of ramps and repechos and very little true flat, making getting into a rhythm difficult and so especially with small teams it can create some interesting possibilities.

A few weeks back I was in Devon and Cornwall on holiday. Tomorrows stage should be a good one. Like you say up and down and twisty.

I love the commentators saying we have 'heavy roads' in the UK. It's a polite way of saying sh*t, poorly repaired roads by surface dressing and doing a bodge job.

I don't know. I think they can very well catch them if the peloton can find a way to work together/ several teams going for it (I'm not watching at the moment so I don't know what it's like). The break isn't strong and there's still a good way to go.
