The Leipheimer Challenge as it could be called.
Can the 3 time champ get enough time back on Horner?
Will Phinney or Sutherland surprise for the win?

A nice TT, some steep sections, and nice scenery.

This can be good for Zabriskie. After losing his chances at winning the overall, I'm sure he'd want to do something at the race and this is his chance to do it.

I would sure like to see Tom Zirbel kick but* in this one tomorrow. :)
also would like to see Chris Baldwin get in a great ride, too, but he's prolly a bit tired after being in the break for a long day yesterday...

Baldy!

Saturday's stage to Mt Baldy may force some of the "traditional" favorites to keep it in their pants. This might work in favor of a Zirble or other less accomplished TTer.

I hate to cheer against anyone but I'd prefer a "Baldy" doesn't take it...

Hope Taylor Phinney goes well. Would be nice to see him get at least one win in his national championships jersey.

Would also like to see Phinney do well but i think a podium is more likely....Leipheimer will chew this up...But horner will hold on for the lead by say 5-10 seconds only...Maybe Morabito can move up into the top 10 overall?

Morabito was a little dissapointing yesterday on the climb. His time trial is questionable. It can be good or quite average.

Levi 1st, Tejay 2nd, and I pick for 3rd any other from RS or HTC. These two teams rule all ITTs, sometimes with 3-4 riders in the top ten.

I think DZ proved his mettle in that Tour of Romandie stage, in spite of the wind change. LL wants to win, And Talansky's Paris-Nice TT performance speaks loudly here.

We may very well see an all American podium...

How much can LL take out of Baldy?

LL will likely win, but I hope Horner keeps his lead in the GC.
The fact he keeps on saying LL is the teamleader is a little dissapointing. I think Horner has better chances then LL, because of the Baldy finish.

I hope Tjallingi and Boom will reach the podium, but I doubt it.

The GC riders will go all out, obviously. No keeping it in the pants on their part.

Boom's form is not great, we've seen that the last few days. Tjallingii... well, it could happen, but I don't think so.

For anyone planning to go to this stage - avoid Solvang. Los Olivos, at the north end of the loop, is much less crowded.

I like Leipheimer today. This is his only chance to pull back time on Horner. I don't see Radioshack letting Horner and Leipheimer duke it out on Baldy and mess up a 1-2 finish. Last year I think he gained almost a minute and a half on Horner in the ITT.

I wanted to see Taylor Phinney TT today but he lost so much time on Sierra Rd that I think he'll be off the course by the time coverage is picked up at 4:55 EST/1:55 PST.
