Man you can tell Sagan is still young. He let himself get boxed in and ended up having to sprint way early to get around and off the rail. :(

That was a nasty sprint by Peter :D
Elbowed by Freire and then he smashed him.
But perfect sprint by Goss of course, anyway, Peter looked like a green rocket.

If they were at the Giro, Leipheimer would be curled up in the fetal position sucking his thumb at the foot of the Zoncolan.
I can understand why folks don't like various riders.

What I don't understand is why they take such joy in being so frikkin nasty.

Anonymity of the Internet.

Congrats to Goss, finally got the win he wanted, great lead out by Howard, timed perfectly I thought. Sky did look like they were going to get it at one stage but Hendo made the mistake of trying to follow Goss instead of jumping out past Howard - that would have completely boxed Sagan too!

It was a good race I thought. Hopefully the Yank hype dials down and they can crate a similar parcours next year and get even more climbers to the race, rather than it being Radioshack v Garmin (and LTD).

It's not the anonymity of the internet. That's just what tends to let people show it. It's the expression of something lacking in them, but you cannot do that in a positive way. Weakness is getting relativised when you can identify it in others. Allthough, I think the reason for this behavior is not personal at all. I believe it direves from our societies reducing everthing to ranks in a competition for bull**** than can be quantifiyed and therefore objectively accessable. So you can only feel good when you create the conviction that you are more than someone else is in one way or the other.

Something worth keeping an eye on will be the number of DNFs - they'll want to have more people complete the race than last year to show improvement in the value of the race to the riders the same as the improvement in the visual spectacle of the race that they've already shown by having a much better parcours this year.

What happened to last year's Thousand Oaks stage? That was one of the things they did RIGHT on last year's parcours, and this is one of the things they've done wrong on this year's parcours.

well maybe they were trying to minimise the number of DNF's like you were suggesting in your initial post.
