Fine performance from Morten Nørtoft. He wasn't quite the next Vingegaard despite the sort of similar background, but he's not a bad rider.

Big, long solo win by Pedersen resulting in the following GC standing before the last stage:

Barring incidents, the GC win is done, but considering the last stage:

the rest of the podium could still be in play or I hope so. Once again, happy to see Kubis still in the game. Also, Del Grosso should throw caution to the wind and go for the win here.

Here's a profile of the final climb. From the top it's ~500m to go to the finish

Last time they used this circuit, two years ago, Fabio Jakobsen won the stage. But back then the climb topped with 3k to go

I feel like this is perfect for Wærenskjold. Never really steep but a somewhat long effort.

A shame they aren't visiting Vestergade in Mariager. 300 metres on very rough cobbles.

Is that one your cobble map, @Danskebjerge?

Vestergade + Teglgade + the start of Fuglsangsgade gives you 720 metres of couples in total.

A news break while the peloton is in beautiful Mariager? The perhaps most picturesque town in Denmark. Then what's the point of having it in the race?

Just had the pleasure of watching stage 4 in its entire length.
Superior display by Mads. I actually had stray thought that he would go for the long shot. 67k to go, risking it all, including it at some point seemed he was loosing it, that's good TV!
You might claim him for alot of things, but a true champion and pure masterclass he is.

But it is futile to listen to Henrik Liniger.
He has had months to prepare to closely read a mere five stages and yet he has so many misses, both with riders, where on the route the riders are exactly situated, and his local knowledge sounds like a live reading from Wikipedia. Not good enough when you have to cover the country's biggest cycling race with great interest in the population.

DR's commentators said earlier (just started watching the stage now) that Mads Pedersen wanted to help Fuglsang get in the break - on the last raceday of his career which finishes in his home town - so he actually rode lead out for him onto a hill, to gap the peloton (Mads Landbo went along with the move) - after which Pedersen dropped back to the peloton

Edit: TV2 got a comment from a spectator on the road, who said he witnessed Pedersen shouting "easy boys" to the peloton when he dropped back, to get them to slow down.

The race is 5 minutes ahead of the fastest projected race time, average speed so far 46 kph.

If they keep it up the race finishes around 15:20.

Liniger is the worst commentator In existence. He is a pestilence on any race/sporting event he covers. The best moment of PostNord Danmark Rundt this year was when there was an issue with commentator sound and you could just hear ambient sound. I feel for Alex R in the commentator room being stuck with this circus sideshow clown.
