This is the 20th anniversary for the race which started back in 1985 (no racing in 89-94). With 8 wins in the last 11 editions Team Saxobank (former CSC) has been a dominant factor in the race.

Stages
1st stage, 4 August: Holstebro - Holstebro, 175 km
2nd stage, 5 August: Vildbjerg - Randers, 170 km
3rd stage, 6 August: Hadsten - Vejle, 185 km
4th stage, 7 August: Nyborg - Odense, 100 km
5th stage, 7 August: Middelfart (TT), 19.4 km
6th stage, 8 August: Høng – Rudersdal (UCI Road World Championships 2011 course), 185 km

UCI Road World Championship Course 2011
The final stage in the 2010 edition of Post Danmark Rundt will finish with five laps on the course for the 2011 Road Race World Championship with the final sprint at the top of Geels Bakke (Geels Hill). The riders will climb 105 meters in altitude on each lap, which besides from the final climb contains the 3.9 km Slotsbakken with the highest point on the circuit.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Worlds course will work out. People were saying that the 2010 Worlds could be a sprinters affair but this one is even more so. The finish could be a typical Hushovd sprint if it's though enough, otherwise it might have Cavendish written all over it.

As far as the worlds go, they say you shouldn’t predict something more than a year out, but, what the hell. Cav for the win.

maybe after winning the green jersey at the tour, (the only other event that can get press in the uk because lets face it, if cav miraculously won the grio, the vuelta and every classic, in one season he still wouldnt get any press here for that) and getting the worlds, Britain will finaly realise that its only world great sportsman, is a cyclist.

Such a shame that britain doesnt recognise that he is one of if not their biggest name in sport (because lets face it, Murray is never going to make the final step, and they dont do too well in foorball these days.)

Anyway he then could win sports personality of the year, and raise the profile of the sport. This is just about the only way this could happen, and next year is the one shot. (I suppose he could win worlds this year and then green, but I think next years worlds is far more likely).

Might be best to find the steepest hill in denmark, and put the finish on top of that - giving climbers and classics specialists a chance, though then again the steepest hill in denmark might be a false flat ramp onto a bridge.

Melbourne is no sprinters course. I don't know how hard Dennark is but will be interesting to see how hard it is.

It's not like the WC courses typically includes mountains anyway. As long as there are some decent hills you can get a good race. You do have some hills in Denmark, right? :D

Definantley a sprinters course but beware there are strong winds in Denmark so get used to the gutter...As someone who is going to the worlds in Geelong Australia i have just booked my ticket to also go home to Denmark next year for the worlds in Copenhagen...Gotta go see Family in Aalborg.

The other significant event today saw our rider Theo Bos (NED) narrowly miss the stage victory in a final sprint. In the last line Theo came into good position in the last corner. With 200 meters to go he was passing Goss but Goss closed the door on him and Theo managed to stay on the bike and avoid a crash. It's unfortunate this happened otherwise he could have won the stage today."

Renshaw claimed that Theo Bos was blocking his sprint at the end but I suppose they both have a point although the video shows that there was plenty of space after the last turn. Both riders just seemed too stubborn and that's really why Matthew Goss came first on the wet track.

Lots of rain and wind again today.

it was a sprint of 8 on a wide straight so I agree that it's not HTC to blame here. Renshaw just kept his line and there was plenty of space on the left but Bos prefered to go to the middle where was Renshaw. Totally his own fault.
