"With more than 80km left to go, it will be a couple hours before the race arrives, however. Will the government workers hang out to wait?"

I would suggest that the answer to this question is no. The race stats so late when it finishes at the capitol for a reason. It is so all the government workers can get out of their offices before the roads are shut down. Ive been there the last two year... it is not a spectator sport in that city... mostly government and money that brings the stage there...

Wrong about Hushovd

You said at 17:24 CDT in "Live Coverage of Tour of Missouri - Stage 4":

"Hushovd has been third twice (stage 1, 2) and second on stage 3."

Hushovd was 3 on stage 1, 2 on stage 2, and won stage 3.
Show some respect for the race leader!

Breathless

Wow, after Cav left the TOM went up for grabs and I got sucked into a virtual peloton. Laura your coverage was outstanding.

"The Tour of Missouri stage seven host Kansas City has traditionally been the start of the seven-stage race in the last two years. It is now the finale. The start and finish used to be located along the Mississippi River in the down town area. Now, it is Crown Centre of Kansas City, an area that has gone through a 5 million dollar revitalization. It is being transformed into trendy cosmopolitan hotspot with new loft apartments, jazz bars and restaurants."

The Mississippi River does NOT pass near Kansas City, and the prior 2 years ToM's have been staged near Kansas City's famed Country Club Plaza.
