Nice to see Uijtdebroeks back to his former self. Even better than his former self, these punchy climbs were never his strength. Can definitely see him ride podium now

Finishing behind Dowson, PP and Brenner is now better than his former self?. Damn, why are we talking about him that much then. Sure "punchy". It was still a 10min effort, let's not act like this was the Mur de Huy or something. He was literally top 5 on a similar climb here in 2023, when he was a neopro.

Blobloblob back to a good level, good to see for him and visma. UAE is not winning everything which is also good to see. Marco Brenner did a good finish and it seems like he is finally fullfilling his promisses from the early youth days.

I´m looking forward to the green mountain stage. No team was really dominant during this climb, so I see the attacks flying on green mountain.

I think that post was written when he was closing Gaudu's attacks and actually looked like he was maybe the strongest rider there.

Toby was right that I might have posted it prematurely, but even then I still think he did better now than back then. Gaudu/Yates are not comparable to Vansevenant and Jorgenson at Movistar. On top of that the general level of the peloton is higher too. So yeah, I think he's riding better than he did before taking into account it's february.

He was a neopro in almost his first pro race back then... Better than his former self insinuates he's better than ever, which this results really does not show. Obviously it's good to see he's on a decent level again after his physical problems, but I would not get "hyped" about a performance like this.

Also Jorgensen and Vansevenants level back then was insane number wise.

Well I don't think he's better here than he was in the Vuelta of 2023. I do think he's better here than he normally would be in February.

Difficult situation for Yates, needs to get rid of Gaudu on Green Mountain who can just follow but doesn't really have the horses to set a proper rhythm. Gianetti obviously thought it would just be a walkover so he sent a DEI team, they're handing out charity rides now apparently.
