Indeed. Oman / ASO / Eurosport really missed a big opportunity here in winning the fans for them.

Showing a race a day after it happened is soooo 1990. They are just frustrating the fans with this now

Last year you could watch it on Oman TV (satellite) but not sure if it is on this year. Anywho I would have watched todays stage live, if I was still there. I love Jebel Akhdar and to see some climbing there would be great.

Next year they could do Jebel Shams (ala Strade Bianche) ;-)

Does anyone know what the gradient is in the last 200-300m?

From the profile it looks steeper than any other part, at least 15% it could just be an illusion though.

RCS profiles > ASO ones.

katusha at the front of the peloton.it's the perfect setting for purito.

Shows he is confident.

HTC were leading the peloton earlier too. Pinotti has the legs as well it seems.

Looks like there's been a split according to the official twitter? 45 riders in the front group.

Probably lots of sprinters and rouleurs taking it easy today.

Yeah, thats what i thought, seen it happen before as the pace ups before a climb that all the people who are just trying to get to the top allow the climbers/gc guys to do the hard work while they take it easy. No mention of any big names being left behind.

Apparently the pack was split on a patch of flat freeway so it might be wind related? Chances are that a climber got caught behind if they weren't paying attention.

20 minutes for the climb and they were 5km away when it stopped. Hopefully it should be over around quarter past (ten minutes time) and the results should appear somewhere shortly after that.

Jeez this twitter feed is annoying. The must of been going pretty quick as they would be close to the end now? Predicted finish was in about 45 minutes.
