greenedge has changed road cycling such a great season showing all that a team of champions can work together :D

but it is good to see allan davis have a good crack at these types of tours,in his past team he was handcuffed to the team car...

Nah, I think they've long since thrown that out. Their climbing roster is still paper thin, and the roster is pretty underwhelming for the bluster they came in on, however they have really utilised the riders they have well, seem to have their tactics pretty bang on.

Sky came into the sport with a very good first couple of months, but their first season tailed away somewhat. GreenEdge have been much more successful than Sky were by this point in 2010, but the season is long.

Either way, I think they've outperformed most people's expectations (even, in their heart of hearts, I think many of their fans).

We will have to wait and see on the climbing roster, who knows what might happen or who may pop up. I am not surprised with the wins, I have been mentioning plenty of guys from GE who I thought might pop up for a win and Impey wasn't one of them :) but hearing Albasini talk about how Impey was his right hand man in his win at Catalunya it isn't overly surprising to see him grasp his chance when he was there to look after Alby.

It has been very lonely supporting GE on this forum since last November so I am glad to see them popping up with plenty of great results and hopefully this will continue through the season. I still see wins for Goss coming up, Davis is very close to a win, Clarke is my dark horse and who knows what the young guns can do post Olympics. I can't recall who made the statement just recently on the Catalunya thread that GE have no-one else who can win a stage this season besides Gerrans and Goss......hmmmm. One-Two is a sweet reply to that statement..haha.

Not sure what Clarke will be doing in this race, maybe looking after Gerrans but I am going to keep a keen eye on him. From Daryl Impey on the GE website;
His recruitment to GreenEDGE has come at a pivotal time in the South African’s career and he hopes to take another step in that journey with the team. “GreenEDGE has assembled a great squad,” Impey said. “I’m hoping to get a start in one of the Grand Tours for next year and aim to have a good Ardennes Classics campaign. I’ll also be aiming for my first ever win in a WorldTour race along with going for the overall win in some of the smaller tours.”

Not sure what the GE plans are for a climbing GC rider into the future but if they are looking for an Aussie maybe they will target someone like Porte when he is out of contract?

I don't believe contract length was ever announced. I'd imagine both Sky and Porte are very happy with how they're working out together though.

It became nonsensical.. There's plenty of supporters out there, but every time you had something good to say about GE you were shot down. Sky supporters especially had a vendetta against anything GE. Winners are grinners on that front.

GE have exceeded my expectations to be honest.. A few teams would love to have the wins GE have at this point of the season. But as has been rightfully pointed out, the season is long and I believe the struggle starts from here? Hope I'm wrong?

Agree with you about Clarke, he can get some results shortly.

I agree that Porte looks happy but would it be fair to say that he is the 3rd or 4th climber/GC rider at Sky. IF GE wanted him and offered him a spot with an Aussie team as the No. 1 rider it could be enough to swing him over.
Would be interesting to find out how he gets on with the other Aussie boys from GE.

I really have no idea who will be strong on the climbs tomorrow. Only one man I can think of...the great Chris Horner! Im pretty sure he will dominate this race. Other challangers will probably be Sanchez, Jrod, maybe Poels, Schleck. Am I forgetting someone?

On second thought I guess also, Cunego, JVDB, and Peter Velits. My wildcard is Matthew Busche.

Its been great to see Greenedge start the year off so well. I thought they would have plenty of wins but I was banking on them coming from the sprinters in particularly Goss. To look at the results and see that Goss hasnt registered a win as yet and to see how many wins they have despite this I think is beyond my wildest thoughts.

I dont think even Greenedge themselves at the start of the season would have thought they would have won a monument, a big stage race and for Impey to now be winning a WT stage.

For Greenedge to continue to move forward in the next year or so they must look at claiming at least a few climbers at years end. If only Goss can get rolling now and take a stage winner or two in the GT's it would be a dream first year!

Some others that could be up there: Rogers, Nordhaug, Scarponi, Anton, D. Martin, Danielson, Mollema, Kruijswijk, Brajkovic, Monfort.
