Disappointing to see no Colombian teams, however this was a really good race last year, probably the only US race I look forward to.

look again...

EPM-UNE (COL)

My eyes went over them too the first time.

Yes! to the best race in the US as I've hinted to Colorado in my signature.

It's still a Tour of Greater Salt Lake City, not a Tour of Utah. Which is a shame.

The start list is crap. For example Lachlan Morton is doing the Tour de Guadeloupe at the moment.

I actually like the format even though you're right about the route. Economical, but it leaves little lacking for a good stage race except for big crowds.

I'm so excited about the new Park City stage I can't even handle it. Guardsman Pass is gonna destroy some folks.

It looks as if the decsent comes straight down into Park City. What's the final K look like?

Ogden is forecast to have temps at 33c for at least three days starting tomorrow. This is going to be a hot one with heat generated winds. With the prologue gone, the promoters have wasted no time on Stage 1 getting the climbs. The North Ogden Divide at 15% for 2 miles will feature a point of attack 12 miles from the finish. Hope for a winning break here, but I think a group of favorites will come together for the finish.

The team presentation is today so look for updates. Garmin's Tommy D will hopefully be back, but his form is a queestion mark. Jens Voigt will anchor the TTT for RSNT. Leipheimer will most likely show up good. Horner has a chance and seems to do well with full team support. The Columbian squad I think will be competitive, but I don't no much about them.

Surface temps on the Stage 2 TTT and Stage 3 which venture into the vey hot Great Salt Lake Basin could reach 120F.

I rode the National TT Championships in Tooele (too-willa) in 1991. Hot as Hades and a blast furnace winds. A good time is gaurnteed for all.

Horner easily;)

Yep. He should be in the money with no ITT. The TTT is on moter race track. It should be intersting because it's has a lot of direction changes with no tight turns. The team that can adjust to the wind changes quickly (likely) will likely win it. I am making no predictions.

Hate time zones. Easy enough if you are traveling yourself. Only know NY, London and the Middle East by heart as those are normally the ones I use.

Is this true?

Utah 1st stage 10:15 = Copenhagen, 18:15:00

Utah, like New Mexico, is two hours earlier than NY. Mountain Stardard Time.

Reference it minus 2 hours from NY.

10:15 is what the site is saying.

I think they are broadcasting only the last two hours....

Stage 2: 2010

stage-05

Ceasar Grajales (On The Rivet) on the climb to the finish leading Levi Leipheimer.

stage-05

The Venue.

Will Leimpheimer show up after a troubled season? Horner gets his chance. Tommy D is back good or bad? So much for the north Americans...who else will contend.

We are having a hot week here. This should be a brutal race.

The Empire Pass climb on Sunday will be superb to watch. I don't think people know what a rough climb that is. Should be a very fast descent. We had an uphill time trial series every other Thursday there about 3 years ago.

Hopefully no major fires. Right now we have one fire in the valley that has caused mandatory evacuations. Nothing up north in Ogden or in the Park City area. If we have a fire, the valley traps all that smoke making cycling very unpleasant.
