Saxo Bank selected these riders for the tour:

CAS
Nick Nuyens
Nicki Sørensen
JJ Haedo
Michael Mørkøv
J. Cantwell
Anders Lund
Karsten Kroon
Sergio Paulinho

Bjarne Riis: "We go to the Tour de France with the overall goal to go for stage wins and put our imprint on the course, and I feel confident that we can do. We have tried to assemble a squad with a focus on creating opportunities and I think we have reached a good mix of experience, aggressiveness and different skills.

"We have JJ in the sprints and some strong people to help him. We have Chris a rider who has good opportunities to do something big in the mountains and maybe even be a suitor for the dotted jersey. And led by Nick and Nicki we have a group of riders with power and nose for the outbreaks."

It means as already noticed that Navarro, Jesus, majka and probably Pires will be with AC in the Vuelta.

Surprises me that SAxo found room for Lund. He has shown nothing at all this year and did the Giro already. Judging from the line up at the Tours homepage he seems to have replaced an seemingly out of form Majka (who will probaly do the Vuelta then). Would have preffered to see Pires instead of Lund. Pires has seemed in good form. But I reckon he might be spared for the Vuelta as well.

Haedo seems out of form too, but since alot of the team is spared for the Vuelta there arent really alot to chose from

I must admit that I am surprised that he's bringing along JJ Haedo. Granted, I am not sure if he has any other sprinting options.

I think that maybe Riis would have been better bringing along somone who can maybe make it in a breakway, such as Luke Roberts, as opposed to someone contunually being beat at the line?

Majka were sick and have had a slow start on the season, and I don´t think Riis ever had intensions of using him in the tour, afterall it´s his debut in a gc and he could hardly been in form either, he have almost no race done the last 3 months, but I would have loved to see him in a free role in a gc, but i think the tour is a bit to much for him right now afterall.

Pires I think have peaked, he also did a lot of race days already, but he did seem to be in good shape, so maybe he also get saved for the Vuelta, it would be a natural selection for sure.

JJ.... for 3 years it´s been my opinion he´s a mistake on the team, but I guess he´s cheap. I only see this selection as desperation from Riis, and he didn´t deserve to be there, none of his results this season justify it, just happy to see its not the "chu chu train" they gonna "eksperiment" with again....

Rabo is sending all three of their best GT riders to the Tour: Gesink, Mollema and Kruijswijk. Gesink and Mollema going for GC and Kruijswijk going for white. It'll be interesting to see how that works out. The ideal scenario is Gesink on podium and both Mollema and Kruijswijk get top 10.

Cross my fingers!

I do think Riis had planned to use Majka had he shown some form in june. Afterall, he was listed as a participant on the Tour official homepage, where Lund was listed as substitute. But Majka simply hasnt hit form (injuries, sickness).

About GC debut, Cantwell is making his GC debut in the Tour

I agree with u about JJ. The way Saxo is riding they need a sprinter like McEwen, i.e. someone who can handle himself and dont need alot of support.

Ok we're getting closer on Liquigas

Vincenzo Nibali
Ivan Basso
Peter Sagan
Alessandro Vanotti
Daniele Oss
Marco Canuti
Kritsjan Koren
Sylvester Szmyd

The last spot is between Dominik Nerz and Maciej Paterski, and the advantage is for the german as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Canuti is a very strange choice as from what I've seen he's been incredibly average all year. No Sarmiento is a surprise too, but I guess Liquigas won't need to control the race and Szymd and Basso should be more than enough help for Nibali in the mountains. Strong team overall. Nerz definitely deserves to be there over Paterski.

No Tosatto, but Lund, Cantwell, ...

On of the weakest teams on paper. What a contrast to the years of Basso, Julich, Schlecks, Cancellara.

Come on their team was built around Alberto. You can't expect them to sent a great team.

PATERSKI Maciej POL
SAGAN Peter SVK

Don't trust letour.fr. Their startlist is wrong.

As expected, Arnold Jeannesson isn't included in FDJ's squad because of his knee problems, Thibaut Pinot takes his place. Hopefully Pinot will be one of the animators in the mountains, but it sucks for Jeannesson - he's missed both of his big goals this year (Ardennes & TdF). I guess he might ride the Vuelta now?

GreenEdge have built very strongly around Goss with Lancaster, Impey, Cooke and Albasini as his most likely train. Albasini, Cooke and Impey have the firepower to turn lead outs into wins if required ...Impey has already done that this year and Cooke and Albasini were also close to turning lead outs into wins.

With such a strong sprinting line up, the interesting question is who will do the grunt work on the road when they have to catch breakaways? O'Grady is one logical choice and the others are probably going to be Langeveld and possibly Weening. Can't see them throwing Gerrans out there too often, so hope Stuey is feeling fit and strong, see him doing the bulk of the work.

On a side note, great to see Stuey doing another TdF, his 16th consecutive start having raced every TdF since 1997. Added to that he has just been selected in the Aussie road team for the Olympics. What a fantastic effort to be going to his 6th Olympics and mixing it in a team with Cadel, Micky Rogers, Gossy and Gerro. He is like fine wine :)

Kind of surprised Nocentini isn't riding for AG2r. Was it always planned for him to miss the Tour ?

He's going to Poland instead - Ag2r need to get their WT points from somewhere.

No one if they are smart. Stare down Argos, Sky and Lotto.

If they need to it will be Langeveld, Cooke and Lancaster (took that role for the Giro).

I also see that "Chartix" didn't get selected, but that's one for the clinic
