Tony Martin zu Skil-Shimano?

Translation is fairly dodgy, from what I can read it is just them speculating on a possible destination.
There is a quote from Martin which translates as -
"Maybe it will be for one or the other as a surprise" i.e. A surprise where he ends up?

TRDean said:Can anyone provide any background on the young rider Tobias Ludvigsson? Is he a real talent for the future or was last week a "flash in the pan"? Thanks!!
ingsve said:He has been one of the strongest and most talented riders in Sweden the past couple of years. Before Burgos he had also won the prologue in Tour de Normandie and the queen stage of Thüringen Rundfahrt ahead of riders like Wilco Kelderman and Johan Le Bon.
I would categorize him sort of like Gustav Larsson. He is rather tall (1.91) and relatively heavy (74-77kg). He's got a pretty good ITT but can also climb fairly well for someone who doesn't have the typical climbers body. I'm told that he's got a better kick than Larsson but he's by no means a sprinter.
As for being a flash in the pan or a real talent, who can really say. He's not the new Sagan if that's what you're asking. Taking the step from U-23 to pro is not easy but I think he has a decent shot at sticking around for a long time. Only time will tell if he could ever win something really big.
Here's his blog in swedish that he updates fairly regularly: http://tobiasludvigsson.blogspot.com/

Every time he failed.
Those classics are too hard for him.
Why you didn't notice him, is because he finished 85th about eveyr time
Midnightfright said:Well I to remember after the Gretsch signing hearing they were looking to sign up to 3 more from HTC if it disbanded. I mentioned on 1 of the threads I expected them to be looking closely at some guys. Maybe Tony is 1. He would be absolute leader and would give them a massive coop and would probo get a WT spot.

He sucked even harder in previous editions of LBL and FW.Michielveedeebee said:I meant LBL and Fleche Wallonne. I know he did AGR and he sucked![]()
staubsauger said:skill would be the perfect team for martin in my opinion. he could focus to perform well in the classics there - just like the way he won the eneco tour last season - and stop being used in a sprint train or trying to be a gt contender.
Well, they could use some experience for their sprint train... or any sort of experience at sprinting, really. Rabo sprinters are always left to fend for themselves, maybe they've finally realized that you can't win a lot of races that way.Swabian Lass said:Mark Renshaw to Rabobank!!?!!Seems unlikely somehow. If Rensahw isn't going with Cavendish, I'd have thought GreenEdge was more likely?

Don't know if it's mentioned on here, but the Degenkolb to Skil move has been confirmed to Nusport.nl by sources within the team.

false.LaFleur said:Tony Martin a good classic rider? Are you f-ing kidding me? I can't see winning the Eneco Tour being related to being a good classics rider whatsoever. (Btw, he only won the Eneco Tour thanks to the time trial, nothing more in it) He will always be a GC and TT rider, he will never be a good classics man.
just some guy said:Re martin and GC*
* as long as the stage race is 7-8 days not too many mountains and long ITT
I think you're forgetting that there's a young Aussie sprinter at Rabo whom Renshaw might feel like helping out. Also, I don't think Renshaw is faster than Bos.Praetor said:I think it would be a waste to use Renshaw as a lead-out for Bos, he might as well try to get wins himself, he'd probably do better.
Did you even watch the race? He won it by getting a gap on the cobbles stage. I actually think he could be very good for Paris-Roubaix, but he doesn't care about that race.LaFleur said:Tony Martin a good classic rider? Are you f-ing kidding me?
