about roche,it's a very good decision.i prefer a roche destroying the peloton for contador than an anonymous team leader riding for 14th place in the grand tours.i never understood that.look at kreuziger,i hope bjarne will take him too
To be fair most people were saying Kreuziger would at the least top 5 before the Giro. He also did get quite a nice stage win.

Kreuziger (Astana)
Fuglsang (Radioshack)
Ignatiev (Katusha)
Cavendish (Sky)
Bak (Lotto Belisol)
Breschel (Rabobank)
Devolder (Vacansoleil)
Van Rensburg (MTN Qhubeka)
Tiernan Locke (Endura Racing)
Cancellara (Radioshack)
Kyrienka (Movistar)
Guardini (Farnese Vini)
Brambilla (Colnago CSF)
Kump (Adria Mobil)
Kiserlovski (Astana)
Voigt (Radioshack)
Lander (Glud & Marstrand)
Steensen (Glud & Marstrand)
The 5 i would choose from would be Kreuziger, Cancellara, Lander, Steensen and Van Rensburg/ Kump.
Kreuziger might be obsolete now that Roche has signed. If Cancellara signs i don't think Breschel should as FC would have Nuyens. Lander and Steensen are young and Van Rensburg/ Kump must be getting offers from quite a few teams and they have both ridden very well this year.

This is of course theoretical/ i would of course preffer to get Cancellara, Kreuziger, Fuglsang, Cav and Guardini but of course he would never get them all.

I think that both Cancellara and Breschel improve their winning chances by being in the same team.

Does anyone know if AG2R could possibly collapse or go down to PC.

Don't think it will collapse but possibly move down to PC due to not enough WT points ... especially since their leader joins a direct contestant for them (Saxo Bank). But on the other hand they have really gotten some nice new recruits with Betancur and Appolonio. I don't know how much they bring in terms of UCI Points though! Maybe they will get some more Iranians?

Like Roche and Gesink, Kreuziger has been an under achiever. With Gesink of course he seems to be cursed. You just know if there is a big crash and a Rabo jersey is in the mix it will be Gesink. His luck has to turn soon. I am having doubts about Kreuziger ever winning a grand tour. I am starting to think he will be a top 10 rider without ever really threatening the podium but on a good day can win a stage or do something special. His problem is too many bad days over three weeks. He might be better sticking to the shorter stage races and then riding as a good domestique for a better rider in the grand tours as others have already stated.

I was a little surprised at Martinelli joining Sky as a Stagiare, but the Apo -> AG2R move puts that one into perspective.

Martinelli logically to stay with Sky and make Sky-Italia feel a little better about their sponsorship.

Not so simple this time, Tabriz are having financial/bureaucratic problems (may not even exist as Tabriz next year) and their Iranian riders have hardly raced any of the SE or East Asian races this year, that would mean half the races. Of course, there are other Iranian teams like Azad Cross, but it's not been anywhere near a sweep for that lot either.

Reinardt (van Rensburg could also be Jacques ;) ) going to a WT team is also not a certainty as Qhubeka are going Pro Conti. I'd certainly like to see him race for them a bit longer rather than join Saxo bank.

Reinhardt van Rensberg has 70 UCI points at the moment, can't see him staying with Qhubeka. Alizadeh has 31 so could be ag2r's next recruit.

Reinardt, no H in there, is not a certainty to go WT I said. He could well go, but it's not a nailed on certainty as Qhubeka are registering as Pro Continental in 2013 and it wouldn't worth the effort without him there. He's got some good wins, and he showed in ronde van zeeland like races that he doesn't need a super team to perform.

Alizadeh won the Qinghai Lake tour, and nothing much else, would be a dodgy pick for mine. He was nowhere near as strong as Sohrabi at his peak was. Better riders around, that's a bit of an exception of a race as the altitudes were nigh on 4000metres on quite a few stages.

Will be in the train for A. Demare.

Shoot, I liked Fischer with Garmin! Good signing for FDJ though.

Its funny how everyone thinks that Kreuziger will go to Saxo. I'm sure Bakala would be happy to pay extra to have him riding for QuickStep. With all this latest team nationalism it should be a no brainer for Czech billionaire to have the best Czech rider on his team.

Agree with Ram. Financial issues mean Iranians have not dominated the Asia tour like they did before. Sohrabi may have been picked for his points but he had a LOT of points and was a strong rider. Alizadeh does not have nearly as many and his place at top of standings is more to do with No riders really dominating and also from TDQL.

when you see Kam Po 3rd in standings you can see they are not that meaningful in terms of signing riders. i mean i love the guy but he aint moving to world tour. Struggling to see any riders in Asia tour this year that will be catching the eye of the big boys. Pujol may find a pro conti ride after his performance in Singkarak

not sure if Chaoufi would be worth a shot for one of the french teams.

EDIT: having checked on last year Alizadeh has more points that Zakari did and he got a contract. still not sure he is worth the risk but doers increase his chances.

Well I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that Coppel will join Cofidis next year.

Levarlet?

Ok, "strong climber" may be too much, but his contract is also ending this year.

Oh, and Saur may now have more difficulties getting a Tour invite next year

Astana official announcement for Vincenzo Nibali & Alessandro Vanotti

"Their arrival next season will strengthen our team, their talents complement our current stable of riders and I am sure fans of cycling will be as excited as we are about them joining the team”.

No mention of Valerio Agnoli though?_?
