He'll have as much success with the black riders as Kiri had this season :p

When a rider like him chooses team like Sky at this point, he thinks rather of:

Paycheck -------> Road Race Success

Nieve confirms Sky move:

Two year deal and a nice climbing domestique for Porte & Froome.

Normally I would be disappointed with such a transfer because it surly means a stronger Sky train to kill exciting racing. But I actually think Sky could be a good team for Nieve and his own personal goals. I just hope that he is given his own chances every now and then. It will suck if he's there for the sole purpose of strengthening their mountain train.

Preety sure Nieve will lead the team in races like Catalyuna or Suiise. Where Sky never send their A squad.

I fully expect it will be, but just maybe he'll get the chance to ride for himself in some of the Spanish or other races perhaps. We'll see.

In other words to please him they let him lead in a few races they don't care about anyway so he is fully committed to strengthening the sky train

The devils in the detail. 6th in Criterium du Dauphine and 14th at Vuelta al pais vasco (last year) versus a stage win in the vuelta (this year). I know which will be more memorable!

Yes. They are still prestigious races to win and will get some good support.

But I am sure he's very happy with his paycheck, his main motvation for this move.

Imagine:

Froome
Porte
Henao
Nieve
Thomas
EBH
Stannard
Kiryienka
Sivtsov

It would be a damn shame. Can you imagine the borefest the Tour GC would be with such a team :(

This. Plus maybe he'll be back-up leader to Henao at the vuelta.

He will never win them though. He is a stage winner not a GC winner.

What am I saying, he will have a big chance to win while at sky of course

But I am sure he's very happy with his paycheck, his main motvation for this move.

I call for a limited budget for each team:) say 10mln. Every team would get a fair chance to build a good team:)

i'm pretty sure that will be the team, surely we all know the tour for next 2/3 years is going to be boring with froome unless it rains for 3 weeks ;)

Hilaire van der Schueren managed to form a new team. Wanty, co-sponsor of Accent-Jobs Wanty, is going to become the main sponsor of a new Procontinentel squad. The co-sponsor isn't announced yet.

Riders who are going to ride with the new team are Leukemans, Drucker, Selvaggi, and most likely Flecha (who makes clear to Hilaire that he really wants to ride one year with his new team).

He is under negotiation with Feillu, Marczynski, Hoogerland, and really wants to hold Mol, Wesley kreder, Lindeman and Lammertink. Van Hummel had a verbal agreement with team Alonso, but there is a chance he's going to join the team also.

De Gendt (too expensive) and Marcato (Cannondale) are not going to join the new squad.

Thanks a lot for the info! Looks like it will be a pretty strong ProConti team!

If the rumours about Euskatels poor training methods are true he should become much stronger with sky.

He will become much stronger regardless of Euskaltels training methods. That's just the way things work in GB.
