according to nairo he didn't take it seriously and barely trained. I take his words more serious and also officially dayer may be police officer but in reality they are all full time pro's, the boyacan police for instance sponsored them. no colombian rider has a job basiclaly. it's all cycling from very young age

Dayer had to actually work as a police officer, as was part of the sponsorship deal.

''While this arrangement was made with a General in the police, eventually there was "an issue with politicians" according to Nairo, and the team's riders were made to actually serve as police officers, though they didn't want to, and never intended to. They were, in a sense, conscripted to serve. That included Dayer, who served as an officer for 18 months, "patrolling the streets, in boots and full uniform" according to Nairo's account.''

Of course it's not clear how much time he had to spend patrolling the streets. What is very striking though is that Nairo seems to support all his family members; trying to get them jobs, sending cash etc. Very generous, but also a way for somewhat distant relatives to exploit Nairo's talent.

he´s pretty good, nairo says he´s really good of course. he didn´t really take cycling very sriously until late last year, he was always a talent, was also in boyacan track team, unlike nairo who never did track. he´s bit different rider. bigger, more sprinter and explosive(bit itt) like, of course also a climber, but in general much more allround with a lot less talent imo, but this is in no way a juraj sagan though. he also looks completely different from nairo

Leonardo Duque style?

dayer didn't really work as an officer I'm trying to explain to you. this is al paper stuff. in reality these guys are full time pro's.

Lots of catching up to do on this thread.

Costa has many teams interested in him offering between 1.5 and 2mils per year. Movistar is trying to get some extra funds to keep him after being able to renew with Quintana but they are having a hard time.

Main contenders seem to be BMC and OGE, but some rumours say Astana, OPQS and Sky were also interested.

As expected Fabio Silvestre signed with Trek for next season(2 year contract). After 2 seasons ruined by constant injuries he has been very good this season with several wins, he is expected to help Cancellara on the classics.

Machado and Oliveira are still waiting for offers from Trek but looking at the way they have been performing i highly doubt they will see their contracts renewed .

Couple more transfers/possible transfers.

Gallopin to Lotto.
Astana is interested in Landa, Nieve, and possibly Basso to domestique for Nibbles.
Cannondale interested in Gatto and Marcato.
Trek wants Felline, the Van Poppels, and Stuyvens (who also has offers from Lotto and Omega).

Gallopin has already been confirmed by lotto.

Signed a 2 year deal.

If true, the Haga thing is no surprise. I figured he'd get a WT shot this year. And he's a local boy - good to see him moving up.

If I interpret the translation correctly:
Zoidl says he's already signed for a WT team (rumored to be Saxo)
Deignan possibly to Sky

I know, That's why I said transfers and /possible transfers. He was the transfer (confirmed) and the other's are possible ones.

I see, my bad then.

Malori to Movistar according to Biciciclismo

The Izaguirre brothers may also be on the way with Gorka prety much confirmed and Ion just a few details in the contract away.

This must mean they couldn't reach an agreement with Costa as they wouldn't have money for this many buys if they had.

I read somewhere yesterday or day before that MOV were definitely letting Costa go - and it was money-related. I believe they also re-did Nairo's contract taking him to a rumored 2M/year.

edit,
and Telefonica also apparently stepped up their sponsorship amount for next year too.
