I assume you're asking about Izaguirre because Nieve has some very noted performances in GT's:

2013
- 2nd in Poland this year finishing top10 in the three mountain stages (Madonna di Campliglio, Passo Pordoi and Bukowina Tatrzanska) plus top10 in the TT.
- 4th in Down Under after a hill top finish to Willunga.

2012
- 1st on an intermediate mountain stage in the Giro
- 16th in Tirreno-Adriatico featuring a wall like stage to Chieti and a MTF to Prato di Tivo.
[My favourite result, nothing to do with climbs I know: 15th at Gent-Wevelgem]

2011
It was his first professional year but he did OK in Poitou-Charentes, Ordizia, Tirreno.

I was wondering if there was a hors cat result when the hammer was down that I'd missed. He has talent no doubt, but his climbing has a little further to come than his TTing.

I don't see Machado coming back to the national circuit. For all his failures, there's one thing he can do well: point whoring.

And he certainly could use a change of scenery.

nobody is interested in points. all wt slots are already filled and there's even one left

That's what I think too. Riis has apparently gone to CAS to get them to rule that Contador's points must count. I guess he has his reasons for why he has done that, but damned if I can figure them out. Seems kind of unnecessary and a waste of money at this point.

Since AG2R are letting Valentin Iglinskiy go, can we assume he's going back to Astana?

Cyclingfever says Weening extended with OGE.

Even if there was some misunderstanding of Pereira's plans at least pre-race, it seems Rui is frustrated at not receiving help from Hernâni on Torre. In theory, Hernâni is stronger in the mountains too (2010 and 11 Senhora da Graça) however Hernâni just seems one day short on recovery, as in his three GC tilts at A Volta would seem to suggest, losing time in two ITTs, one flat and one hilly, and on the final big mountain on the other occasion. He's been good on Torre before outside of that time he cracked, and he's been good over the same TT course in the past too.

And while Sousa is 37, if he can compete at that age, I'd have thought Hernâni still has a chance or two at fighting for it given that he's 5 years younger?

Either way, seeds were sown for discontent and disunity within Efapel even before the race began. Once they started chasing down their own teammates, it's quite clear to see, if hindsight's talking.
I think Rui Sousa isn't a good example. It's not normal a man have two podiuns with 11 years between them.
However, Hernâni Brôco is a good physiotherapist. Other men needs ride for for 500-800€/month, cause ride a bicycle it's the only think they can do. Hernâni is graduated and can earn more money with less physical effort as physiotherapist. In autumn 2009 he planned end her career and it won't be a big surprise for me if he ends this year. I don't know.

I guess Riis is just mad because of all unessary signings he had to make last year just to gain WT point. Perhaps he can be given some kind of compensation if CAS finds he is right.

Considering the average age of Portuguese people keeps rising and bone/muscular/joint injuries/diseases happening more year over year, and most of those requiring physiotherapy... I fail to see how it's NOT a good future career for him.

Better than being a domestic scene cyclist, both in terms of money and career longevity.

I'm sure as a prominent domestic cylist you will leave that scene with a much better network to continue your career.

Hmm, interesting move for acevedo. Not a ton of climbers, so he should get his chances. Will have to wait to see how it works out.
Actually Janier is more of a rouleur than a climber, since his background is on track, but because of Colombia's terrain & Altitude, his ability to climb is inherent....

Glad he got a Pro-Team contract :)

I thought I heard Lefevre saying so on the national radio, that Acevedo will help Uran because they know eachother well. I don't know about Poels' role though.
