Latest for this year from Beppe Conti;

-Scarponi and Samuel Sanchez have an offer from Scinto and Citracca for their new Pro Conti team
-Horner has an offer from Guercilena, but the contract would be much less than the actual one even after his Vuelta victory
-Simoni Ponzi is without team but could end up at Saxo
-Basso didnt conclude the deal with Astana, and he's waiting for Riis to confirm the 2nd big sponsor from Danmark

Ponzi has been the second best classics rider at Astana this year, so how doesnt he have a contract Vino? :(

Thanks to the staff, riders, and sponsors at @RSLT for a great four years. I'll be going somewhere else for 2014.

He's one very lucky man to find a team at the highest level.

Vini wasn't invited to Roubaix this year either.

Anyway, he could still do races like Omloop, DDV, De Panne,...

I'm aware Vini weren't invited to Roubaix this year but they were invited to Flanders. Looking at next year's Pro-Conti teams I'm 99% sure that Wanty will get invites to both Roubaix and Flanders. It is a strange decision for a rider like him to join a team that is unable to compete in either of those races. Have to assume Vastgoedservice have offered him a better contract despite being a Continental team.

Not sure, its getting closer to the end of the road for Hulsmans. If he stayed at the top level, he may not get selected anyway. Perhaps its better to take a step back and do some smaller races.

$$$. He'd have done all the smaller Belgian races at Wanty anyway.

Chaves to Greenedge.

Interesting move and one I wasn't expecting.

Hopefully he can get over his injury.

Blgian soccer player Timmy Simons will support a new continental team called Vastgoedservice.

It's the team where Rob Peeters the cyclocrossers will ride for so they will have a road and cyclocross team.

Cyclocross team : Rob Peeters, Joeri Adams, Jens Adams, + Yannick Peeters

Road team : Kevin Hulsmans, Rob Ruijgh, Kevin Peeters, they have a budget for 15 riders....

I thought Hulsmans was going to Wanty - Groupe Gobert???

DS : Johan Verstrepen

Good to see Simons getting involved in the sport.

A good defensive midfielder in his prime.

I never knew he had this big an interest in cycling.

So who has GreenEdge gained and lost?

In:
Mathew Hayman - Classics rider
Ivan Santaromita - Hilly stage hunter?
Johan Esteban Chaves - Hilly stage hunter
Damien Howson - neo pro - Time Trial
Simon Yates - neo pro
Adam Yates - neo pro

Out:
Stuart O’Grady - retired, then broke many Aussies hearts
Fumiyuki Beppu - Trek
Sebastian Langeveld - Garmin Sharp
Daniel Teklehaimanot -MTN-Qhubeka

Unless they lose some one else, I believe that's 30 riders for next season.

Hulsmans has been a gregario all his career, he hasn't won a race for more than 10 years. At Wanty he would have ended up riding for Leukemans anyway - now he will not be able to do the big races but might go for a result in Het Nieuwsblad or Dwars Door Vlaanderen (and all the smaller belgian races throughout the year)

I think Chaves is more than a 'hilly stage hunter'. He won on Laguinas de Neila, so he can do well on proper climbs to.

How is Chaves' recovery going btw? Is he already able to train again?

His recovery is going well, he said in a interview not long ago. I'm not sure, but in a couple of weeks he will start training again. I don't know if he is capable at the moment though.

Looking like a well improved squad. Some good guys for the hills, some promising talents, and a solid domestique/cobble rider.

Really hope Chaves can do well with them and that he is completely (or most of the way) recovered from his injuries.

BTW, what are people expecting from the Yates in their first year at WT? Will they need some time to adjust or will they just jump in and start winning?

Betancur has extended with AG2R according to cyclingfever - good for them! Did he only have a one-year contract or did he extend his existing contract early?

he only signed for 1 year because he expected to do very well and then cash in. that's exatcly what he did. I hope he refinds proper motivation again though because since the giro he hasn't trained at all and it showed. seemed to be the old betancurt again.

He was 12th in Beijing, so it will be alright

he is 12th in beijing because he rode lots of races including vuelta and the guy obviously is a natural class act. but he didn't train at all between giro and vuelta and it showed.

Of course, but it doesn't say anything about next season. I hope he knows he has to train hard to deliver, and he can't ride good results just on his talent.
