Probably Cardoso was better, although they're not the same type of riders so it's hard to compare them.

But Haas had quite impressive winter-spring period with 13 top10 places scored in flat sprints, hilly races and even TTs. 5th in TdU, stage win in Herald Sun Tour, and 6th in Brabantse Pijl, despite being squeezed to the barrier by Matthews, could've been a top 3 instead, I feel. He even proved he can climb a bit with 12th overall in CI.
Haas will probably drown a bit among the hills/climbs talent they have lined up for next year. A pure domestique.

Maybe, but he has a chance to focus on sprints a bit. If Viviani really goes to other team, as rumoured, Haas will probably become a 2nd fastest man in this team. That should bring him some chances to ride for himself.

BMC adding some young riders to their main squad: World Champion Flakemore, Rosskopf and Senni.

Rosskopf is not really that young. But still they already have Kung and Tuens coming in plus Rick Zabel who is younger than any of them already in the squad. So BMC have 8 riders coming in so far, Caruso, De Marchi, Drucker, Kung, Teuns, Flakemore, Rosskopf and Senni.

BMC has pulled off a coup. Teuns, Flakemore are great, but stealing Rosskopf is their best pick up. Guy may not have a huge role this year with the talented roster, but he will turn heads. I bet a lot of team managers will be kicking themselves for not taking him first.

BMC looks scary good for next year.

BMC finally getting rid of their overpaid old pro's and picking up some decent young signings. - I wonder if Rohan Dennis will challenge next year also.

Just what I was thinking. No more buying past-due world champions and finally adding some younger talent.

Yes I think BMC could pack a punch in the GCs next year, in some ways I wonder whether Phinney and TVG have been held back by the older riders in some ways possibly.

I wonder if Gilbert will move to somewhere like Lotto also.

I don't think so, maybe TVG by Evans a bit, but Evans was a top GC guy and earned his place. Now it is TVG team for GC.

Phinney is prob my 2nd favorite in the peloton. That being said, he is a rouler and dom in the tours. His time to shine is on the cobbles wit GVA.

Gilbert is going just fine and has his leadership role in the Ardennes races.

I am trying to find weakness on this team and I am having a hard time doing so.

Cobbles are not very strong. GVA will do some top-10s but winning races is something else and Phinney is also not that strong.

Sprinters? - I'm wondering about supporting riders for TVG and Dennis.

The US circuit isn't Europe. I agree that Rosskopf seems to be a pretty good rider, but riding 4% climbs at 3000 m altitude is a totally different ballgame to what he'll be presented with in, say, the Giro.

Dennis is a support rider himself. Apart from that one climb in the Dauphiné where he turned himself inside out he hasn't really shown any climbing chops among the pros.

Correct, sprinting looks to be an area for improvement. They do have Zabel, but not sure how much he brings. GVA will stick his nose in there from a small group but won't contend with the big boys.

Support for TVG? Phinney, Stetina, GVA, De Marchi, Dennis, Oss, Rosskopf et al. So with that I think they are pretty fing strong.

That's not a patch on the help for Froome (Konig, Roche, Poels, Kiri etc), Nibali (Taraamae, Kangert, Sanchez, Fulgsang etc) or Contador (Kreuzeiger, Majka, Rogers, Kiserlovski etc). BMC are not a strong GC team when put against the likes of Sky, Tinkoff & Astana.

The biggest issue for BMC is that their best GC rider is currently miles away from the level of the ''big 4'': Contador, Nibali, Froome and Quintana.

Their problem is that Gilbert is their only rider who can win big, and he doesn't win that big (or often) anymore.

yep, and hence BMC can "play" with the support riders a bit more, at least for now. Very much similar to when Evans was the key man.

That is looking like a much stronger side on paper at least now, Stetina will be an asset, and I think De Marchi could play havoc against the big(ger) teams.

I guess Oss and GVA are sprinters.

Actually Schar, Quinziato, Eijssen and Atapuma - could be good support?
