Figured we needed a new thread for this year instead of continuing to use last years.

In today's news, Bettini been seen talking to several riders for Alonso's new team. At TA seen talking to Sagan, Pelucchi, and T. Martin. Bettini also mentioned EBH and Nocentini as riders he would be interested in signing.

Would be a good opportunity for EBH IMO. He could use a fresh start and could probably be one of the team leaders on Alonso's team.

Per request, I have compiled this list of riders with existing contracts past the 2014 season. I was able to create this list using CyclingQuotes transfer overview for the 2013-14 season (http://www.cyclingquotes.com/news/transfer_list_2013-2014/). I only put riders on the list who had a year listed (the year they were signed until), so there is likely some that have current contracts but are missing from the list. If any of the info is wrong or you know a rider and year they are signed until that is missing from the list, please let me know and I will edit. Also I only bothered with the world Tour teams, because the lower ranked teams on CyclingQuotes list usually only had one or two riders listed as signed past 2014.

EBH needs to get away from Sky IMHO. He is better than being a domestique for Thomas. Seriously.

Thats true,he has to be a leader in smaller classics and stage races where he can win.
So is Henao ofc,but he has a longer contract if Im not mistaken:eek:

So what team does he go to were he would be the leader? I suspect he might be a young guy who reached his peak early!

Depending on Sagan comming or not, EBH would fit well at Tinkoff as a springclassic leader. Sadly Matti is always injured and never really filled the role.

I have no reason to think he is going though.

I think Sky are much happier to let EBH go than EBH to leave Sky

Sky will be scary this year in transfers.. With Wiggo, JTL and EBH(?) off the wage that's a massive chunk of budget.

Better let's wait and see what will be EBH capable of doing during this season's classics. He started pretty well and since Thomas will most likely focus on GC there will be a lot of space for Norwegian in classics.

And Wiggo will focus on track, no matter if he will be still a part of Sky team (most likely) he will get a paycut for sure.

Without Wiggins and EBH Sky could afford even Contador , in the same budget limits, and win all 3 GT's without breaking to much sweet.

Reading again what i just write above makes me lol but the from math pov it's perfectly possible.

So the the big items of 2014 - 2015 will be

- Alonso team
- What will Sky do with the high wage under performing riders
- Tinkoff transfers (rich russian people usually splash a lot)

EBH really needs to perform, he's been given plenty of chances at Sky. The problem is that he's a jack of all trades, but not as good at it as Sagan.

his problem is eh casn't handle the distance in the classics and that will never change. tour of flanders and msr last year were most perfect example.s he was in great positions as a leader and he failed hard to follow in the final

Sky are making big changes to their cobble classics team next year. EBH very likely gone and Thomas is going to focus on stage racing.

Wiggo:-
"It's likely I'll be on Team Sky for the next couple of years, even if I'm on the track programme, because that's what the team was created for: to help the track guys. But in what capacity I will race could change drastically as I put on more weight for the track and specialise for it," he explained.

But yes, its will be on a Domestique's salary, not a GC leader one.

If he goes to Track his Road wage is gone. There's a separate Sky funding for Track I believe.

I agree JRanton, I think if Vanmarcke gets another podium in either Ronde or PR Sky could offer him veryy big bucks indeed.

Latests from Beppe "the man" Conti:

-Alonso wants Indurain as a PR also cause he already got into his radar his son
-Bettini got a list of 44 riders who will be without contract in 2015 and gonna pick from there
-Alonso still thinking he'd like to have Contador in his team (although him being still under contract)
-Kittel rumored to be ****ed off not being part of Milano-Sanremo team and he'd like to change team; he could be part of Alonso's team with a contract of 1 million
-Team Sky already chasing Kwiatoski for replace Henao

I can understand Kittel since Dagenkolb is super strong/fast.

Kwiatkowski to SKY? Please NO! We dont need another EBH wasted talent at SKY working for Froome and being a domestique.

Anyone know the contract status of Talansky or Dombrowski? I ask because I would love to see either end up with Trek as a GC guy.

I make no bones that I am a Trek guy and want them to rule the world!!!!!!
