And I don't think signing those 2 italians would help them get a Giro invite.

They put in a bit of a push for one this year, with no success.

The Giro may well be the toughest GT to get an invite to, given that there will be four Italian PCT teams again next year. And as Yellow Fluo showed, it seems that those teams are guaranteed a slot even when they shame the race the year before.

They would be much better off trying for the Vuelta, given that only two wildcards are pre-booked (Caja Rural and Cofidis). Even the Tour is probably easier to get into right now.

They lead Coppa Italia currently and could therefore qualify automatically.

Not if they close down which seems a pretty realistic scenario after the Rambo crash.

Would be stupid to close down a team that is sure to be invited to the Giro.

Is Neri still gonna back them? Otherwise I see no other sponsors interested in that squad anyway. Look at their lineup

Anyway. 4 Italian wildcards don't seem totally unrealistic for me next year.

There are only three Pro Conti Italian teams. My guess is the Giro Wild Cards will be Androni, Neri, Bardiani and either Bora, MTN or IAM.

Nippo Vini is going to PCT and already signed likes of Cunego, Nibali small brother.

Yes, there will apparently be four Italian PCT teams next year, assuming none of them fold. There might be five wild cards though as we don't know what the WT numbers will be yet.

In any case tough for anyone else to get a wild card.

Okay, what the heck is wrong with Lampre-Merida?

Well it's true they haven't been active on the transfer market, but they do have about 11-12 confirmed riders and about 13 that might as well stay, including the likes of Valls, Ferrari, Niemiec, Oliveira and Serpa, so still a decent team if they stay and recruit some others on the market.

Any news about Alonso's team? Nothing new since he signed that agreement with NOVO. In theory, he must have submitted to the UCI the contracts for 10 riders by October 1st.

A decent PCT level team perhaps.

Cunego to Nippo-Vini Fantina, that will become a Professional COntinental team next year.

http://www.biciciclismo.com/cas/site/noticias-ficha.asp?id=75573

Is that three additional Pro-Conti teams announced for next year so far?

1) Nippo-Vini Fantini
2) Cult Energy
3) Roompot - Orange

It was pretty easy for Pro-Conti teams to secure wild cards to races this year so it's logical that we see Continental teams wanting to step up (and a new team in the case of Roompot).
