Especially when they re-sign Benedetti, who they left until the last minute to re-sign last season.Bye Bye Bicycle said:I'm surprised to not see Paul Voß in the 2017 squad - this was his best season so far, I'm curious were he will end up next year.
Sad to hear and I hope his health recovers.davebqvst said:According to this article, it's health problems. He says he underwent "intensive medical examinations" that leave him no other option but to retire. Sounds quite serious.Zinoviev Letter said:No, but whatever the cause, that there is a problem has been obvious for a long time. He was signed by Bora to be their new GC leader after Konig moved on and then didn't even make their Tour team.Norks74 said:Anyone know what caused this?Tych23 said:Sad end for Dominik Nerz - something was clearly wrong for the last two year. I wish him all the best in the future.
Benedetti was good all season, as an all purpose domestique and a breakaway guy. It's not at all surprising that he was renewed. As far as Voss is concerned, there is no chance at all that they didn't offer him a contract. The only possible explanations are that he signed elsewhere or he wanted a raise they didn't want to give him.TMP402 said:Especially when they re-sign Benedetti, who they left until the last minute to re-sign last season.Bye Bye Bicycle said:I'm surprised to not see Paul Voß in the 2017 squad - this was his best season so far, I'm curious were he will end up next year.

So IAM had four riders going to Ag2r, but Tinkoff has EIGHT going to Bora.
Exactly my thoughtsZinoviev Letter said:This kind of thing is more or less inevitable when the star of a rider big enough to have his own entourage starts to fade. The rider makes promises based on his old standing, teams only let him stuff their roster full of not quite good enough friends on the basis of his current standing. Awkwardness ensues.
Like I said, they even trained together since thenValv.Piti said:Why would Paulinho cry publicly over this? Contador is the reason he has had a job for at least 2 years now.
On the other hand, it seems kinda bad mannered not even to give him a call.
To answer your question, yes.staubsauger said:What should he say to Paulinho though. “Sorry pal I ain't got no option to guarantee you a contract at Trek. I just found out I only got one myself, because they want to attract Aru for 2018!“
Can't blame him for feeling ashamed tbh!
Because he only found out mid september, which makes it harder to find a new team. Contador probably knew sooner that he couldn't take him to Trek.LaFlorecita said:Like I said, they even trained together since thenValv.Piti said:Why would Paulinho cry publicly over this? What obsession? Lol. I just commented on what Paulinho had said, trying to be objective and see it from both sides. Something that you obviously aren't capable of when it comes to Contador.LaFlorecita said:Like I said, they even trained together since thenValv.Piti said:Why would Paulinho cry publicly over this? Could you talk more about that?Miburo said:The only mistake Contador made is giving Hernandez a spot. Contador is the reason why paulinho is still racing the last 3 years of his life.
And that after paulinho betrayed him when they were in astana.
He should be grateful instead of talking **** about the man
Yeah but they trained together after that, so clearly this has been blown way out of proportion. If Alberto really didn't tell Paulinho Trek refused to sign him, then yes, that's not great, otoh, in that case, why did Paulinho never ask him about it? Surely at some point he should have wondered why Trek hadn't contacted him?carolina said:Because he only found out mid september, which makes it harder to find a new team. He should go to Bahrain, who are short of riders.Nirvana said:Also Tosatto wanted to continue with Contador but i think now he's looking for another team because he want to ride at least another season.
