Hope not! He's smart enough to know that he's not capable of doing it. I think it's time for him to give a chance to Giro and Vuelta and grab some stages there

Will they be WT or not? Either way, very disappointing decision. It can't be that different a project as Lampre are announcing Ulissi and Costa as renewals and keeping Saronni as general manager. Thankfully all points to Brent Copeland being shown the way out.

Is Bora WT worthy though. They have Sagan but that's it? I mean, they don't have the quality to ride more than one WT race at the same time. Signing Majka would be a huge difference but still. And do they need that WT licence? I mean, the will get every wildcard they want.

I prefer Bora to Bahrein but he one thing is for sure is that TJ Sports will be WORLD TOUR sou the figth will be between Bora and Bahrein so i could gess that your right , and that´s could happen!

Hasn't Copeland already been confirmed to Bahrain? Bahrain by now have all but confirmed the WT spot. Nibali, Maintjes, Henao and Colbrelli are riders that are good enough to get the spot.

Chinese Lampre can take Lampre's place, Bora takes IAM's and Bahrain takes Tinkoff's.
Dimension Data are bottom of the point ranking so maybe they are forced out, or could be between them and Chinese Lampre for the last spot.

Maybe I'm a bit radical but If one has to make an subjective decision I would send FDJ to Pro Continental if we have to cut 1 squad. Apart from Pinot and Demare, they have no one that can make a mark at WT level and even Demare has to prove that his San Remo wasn't a fluke, given the rest of his season. They could certainly go to all the WT races they want with Pinot with a wildcard.

If I understood the UCI world tour rules for 2017 correctly, there's not a single team with a licence for next year. The UCI will only give 17 licences at the end of 2016 and they will be valid for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Astana would be at the bottom if you take away Nibalis points... Or LottoNL if you take away the points of Vanmarcke.

It should be a beauty contest between the 2 new applicants and the #17 and #18 of the UCI World Tour Ranking, i.e. Bora, Bahrain and Dimension Data (IAM quits). Lampre is safe, as long as they're in the top 16. Bora also safe, since they have more points than Dimension Data (Sagan) regardless how you count and in the eye of the public have better ethics than Bahrain if it comes down to that.

Bora won't be a squad of 14 riders.

If Majka and König go there as rumoured, they will have more depth.

Barta and Huszarski have been decent as well in the past. I have seen weaker teams stepping up in the last years.

Vacansoleil wasn't stronger on paper in 2011 without Ricco & Mosquera. Although Hoogerland had a strong 2009 Vuelta, De Gendt was a great prospect and R. Felliu a decent sprinter.

But Sagan, Majka & König is another caliber.

But the teams won't have to attend all the new WT races, only 10 WT teams will have to attend all the newly promoted races which in alot of cases would already be getting WT teams attending but I do understand your point. Whichever team that doesn't make the WT cut will still get all the invites they were looking for.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Di Data get dumped back down to PCT as the UCI know Sagan is a cashcow and they want the Oil money and a leg into the massive Chinese market. What in reality what do Di Data offer the UCI? The only thing they have going for them is having Brian Cookson's son on staff, It's the only thing I can think of that keeps them WT if we are to have 17 teams next season.

Perhaps one for the Giro, but for the Tour KoM and Green are enough, no need for GC. Majka will probably ride the Vuelta for GC, I think.
