Believe they went for Paddy Bevan and Geogre Bennett also. So very good addition for them.

Dion Smith joins Mitchelton Scott on a two year deal
An excellent signing.
George Bennett is good friends with Chaves, so not out of the question. He might struggle for leadership roles at Mitchelton though.

Mitchelton were super keen on Bevin and at one stage they thought they had him signed, sealed and delivered.

Anyway MS has in effect signed five WT's neo-pros for 2019 - Yates x 2 ate up some of the budget.

They said that he joins the team on the recommendation from Carapaz. That sounds strange. Why would they consult Carapaz? And why would they say about it? :D

I think you might have it back to front. Carapaz would have recommended him to EF, who must have liked what they saw and hired him.

I think this is more likely. Carapaz recommended to EF that they should scout or take a look at him. Then EF did and decided he was worth offering a contract to. That would make the most sense to me.

Pfingsten's contract won't be extended by Bora... A ******* shame
So unfair for one of the most precious and selfless teammate of the whole peloton

That’s a surprise. He joined when they were a much smaller team and he has always played a useful, if low visibility, role.
