According to Gazzetta dello Sport Gaviria will leave QST and join UAE. And also Enric Mas might leave the team, because they have to cut down budget.

Is a shame that both of them leave QST, is one of my favorite teams.

Is Kristoff leaving UAE?

If is true i think that Gaviria will leave with one of his closest teammates, Iljo or Maxi.
No, apparently Kristoff isn't leaving, so it would be a mess, 2 big name sprinters and not enough guys to form 2 good trains, even if Gaviria would bring Maxi back to Saronni (ok, Ferrari-Richeze and a random guy before them sounds pretty good).
Still, UAE already have too many leaders, a team like Bahrain that lacks a top level pure sprinter would make more sense.
Who knows, maybe it's just the usual Beppe Conti bs.

He should go to Bora and move them one step closer to their end goal of being able to name a race squad consisting entirely of high level sprinters.

1 big sprinter. Kristoff doesn't have the speed to win pure sprints anymore. They can easily fill calendar between themselves. Kristoff will never will green jersey so he should skip Tour entirely nayway

Big talk about a rider who just won on the Champs-Elysées...

I agree it probably was a fluke, but he isn't going to skip it with that win in his mind.

Apparently, the Sosa-Saga is over, and he will definitely ride for Trek next year. (Source, in Spanish)
Wow, so according to that article this case actually went to the UCI to decide, and they considered the agreement between Sosa and Trek valid.
Partnership between them off to a bad start.

This is the key in my opinion:
Trek-Segafredo paid Savio his cut – which according to Trek-Segafredo was a fee of €120,000

Source: http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/transfer-mechanics-lifting-the-lid-on-the-ivan-sosa-saga/

So Savio had the key in his hands. Either Sosa had valid agreement with Trek, or his agreement with Androni Giocattoli was not terminated and therefore valid. ;)

They got a new sponsor for the next coming years. FINALY. Gaviria and Mas stays. :)
Details about the deal, monday 18h.

Great news!

Indeed!

Not that I care too much about Gaviria or Mas, but I love the team and it would be a shame if the best team in cycling couldn't find a sponsor.

Still, the system is broken! :(

Wonderful news. I was worried for Gaviria's career if he ended up at Team UAE.

He was never going to end up at UAE. He wasn't leaving. Gazzetta were quoting Beppe Conti.

Cyclingfever has Sean Bennett rumoured to EF-Drapac.

EF kind of lacks that kind of versatile riders (luckily they've got Bettiol back) so I have been thinking of him as a good possible signing for the team for weeks if not months. It would make so much sense to me that I almost refused to think it's realistic, especially with him supposedly still having a contract for 2019 with Axeon.

If this happens, I will be in disbelief how many riders I like EF will have managed to sign this year. Van Garderen, Hofland and Kangert have always been among my favourite riders for some reason.

Scotson to Groupama-FDJ and his Brother Callum rides for Mitchelton-Scott 2019-2020.

Jaakko Hänninen who took bronze in Innsbruck has done strong season at French amateur team EC Saint-Etienne Loire, #1 at U23 ranking. Rumours going around him linked Ag2R maybe?
I would've expected FDJ, with Veikkanen being a DS there and them having had Fins in the past.

Yes, but rumour has it that it's actually Ag2R.

Ulissi just resigned with UAE for 2 more years.

I would have liked to see him on a different team, I feel like he could be much better on a better team and if he was willing to work with them on his weaknesses (bike handling skills and not being great at staying near the front).
Still no rumours about Ravasi, I'd rather see him at Astana or Bahrain.

Very good news.

I agree the system is still broken and still in need of fixing.

Stannard wins the Baby Lombardia and is immediately proted to the Mitchelton Scott WT team for Varesnine on Tuesday. Stannard could end up as good as Matthews.

What's the contractual-technical difference between "He's on a contract with the WT team from 2019, and will ride Varesine as a stagiare." and "He's on a contract with the WT team from now, and will ride Varesine"?

That he will ride Lombardia, Turkey or Guanxi as well, which is not allowed as a stagaire.

I'm guessing he's not gonna ride Turkey, considering it starts on the same day as Varesine. He might be a talented rider, but I don't thing he's quite gotten the be in two locations at the same time business figured out.
If he starts Lombardia, would that make him the first rider to do the U23 and the Elite version of a race in the same year?

I think the point is that you are not allowed to ride WorldTour races as a stagiare.

I think you are allowed. Wellens even finished top 10 in one of those chinese races nobody cares about, as a stagiaire. Unless he was given a full pro contract from august on, which while in practice the same thing would I guess be technically different.
