Campernaets will leave LS.
That leaves a sour taste in my mouth, but I imagine he'll get a decent amount of interest.

Ineos and Michelton Scott spring to mind.

The thought of Campenaerts leaving Lotto never ever crossed my mind. Very surprising.

Gilbert is a great transfer for them though. Finally a winner...

as you said surprising but on the other hand, how many races did he win?....

that's all that counts...

Lotto apparently did offer him a new (improved) contract a while ago, but he chose to wait for other/better offers and now Lotto just has better options. So the number of wins has very little to do with it.

they have more chances on a win with degenkolb and gilbert than with Campenaerts

Maybe they should buy Mareczko and begin competing in Asia. Plenty of wins there.

Dumoulin to JUmbo?
Imagine a TTT with Dumoulin, Roglic, Van Aert, Martin and Van Emden.

Jumbo would need a really good budget to even think of adding Dumoulin to their current roster.

According to Belgian media, Gilbert is signing with Lotto for 3 years (so he'll be 40 at the end of that contract) and Mas will ride for Movistar the next 2 seasons.

Then I hope GVA will also transfer back to Lotto in a couple of years' time. Then everything will really have come full circle (I don't think it particularly likely to happen, though).

Movistar has offered Mas a 3 year deal, which obviously he hasn't confirmed to signing as of yet.

Don't think Mas can technically sign it until Aug 1st. Isn't that when the transfer season technically opens?

Belgian newspaper says Sam Bennett close to DQS.

Interesting if true: it would mean that he’s prioritizing getting the best results possible over getting the biggest paycheck possible as it is highly unlikely that they are offering the most money.

Viviani to Cofidis

Moving from one of the most efficiently budgeted teams in the sport to one of the most profligate means a big raise. He will still get a good calendar. He will get much weaker support. It will be interesting to see how he does without the best train. (If it doesn’t go well he can at least bulk up his palmares with a truck load of easy wins in little French races).

The way I understand it, he can sign, he - and Movistar - just can't tell anyone until Aug 1st.

Before the stage, according to a quote in the CN live coverage, Viviani confirmed that Cofidis want to sign him but denied that he had signed anywhere yet. He says he thinks he deserves “a big contract”. Presumably that’s the issue in his negotiations with DQS - there’s big money on offer elsewhere, DQS don’t want to give him that kind of raise.

Why would they with at least Jakobsen and maybe Hodeg on the rise? And 2019 seems to confirm that Viviani is good, really good even but not "elite". Why pay him so much if you have his replacement already on the roster for 2 years and way cheaper?! Mas on the other hand, they have no other GC option at the moment. So keeping him would be more important than just another sprinter. Its unlikely but from Lefeveres perspective it should be quite clear who he should offer more money to stay if he has to decide between Viviani and Mas.
