With them losing Gilbert this would be a excellent addition to there classics squad, he would presumably be a strong part of a lead out

Yeah, would really be an excellent signing for them.
Politt has a big motor and gets over hills quite well recently as we saw at the Tour l'Ain and in the Vosges. Additionally he has a nice little finishing sprint. I suspect him to become Quick Steps new classics leader!

Which probably pleases Lidl so they sign-by their sponsorship!

If Politt joins QS I'm sure he will win Paris-Roubaix multiple times

Benoot will join Carapaz at Ineos next year apparently.

Source? I hate that he's leaving LTS, but I would be fine with it if he goes to Ineos and not Sunweb. I want to see what they can do with a rider like him.
I would also like to see him go to Ineos because i'm curious. Either way, he's completely wasted potential at Lotto. I think he has a much bigger shot at winning 1 week stage races at Ineos, than he has at winning a classic at Lotto. Not too keen on Sunweb either.

But he did seem set to go to Sunweb two weeks ago. From the looks of things, it was decided and he only needed to put down his signature. Would the entire Dumoulin saga have changed his mind?

well, it depends on what Benoot plans to focus on. There's enough room at Sky to become the leader for the Ronde

I suspect he would be, and it might be the team can give him the strongest support as leader (of teams who would be interested) to go with I would hard probably the biggest contract offer as well

Him and Kwaitkowski could do some nasty things together in the hilly classics as well.

Except they won't have support at the team has proven they only care about the Grand Tours. You want to be a top classics riders you go to DQS.

DQS wont of offered the money Ineos has and he wont be sole leader like I suspect he would at Ineos.

Are DQS a better team for him? Yes but you can certainly see the appeal

Considering they transformed Van Baarle, a true classics prospect only a few years ago, into a mountain goat... i don't know if they would attract Benoot for the classics. In theory, you could have Moscon, Van Baarle, Kwiatkowski, Benoot... for the classics. But those guys have been shoehorned into GC doms...

It'll be interesting for sure. I think him moving to Ineos has the potential of turning out great or disastrous.

Fair point, I viewed them as seeing him in the Kwiat mode. I can see him top 10 a GT for sure (away from Ineos). His priority will be GT helper and he will lead a few one day races because some one had to. Still the support will be resonable

If you want to race classics yes DQS is a much better option. If you want a big payday and don't mind being shoehorned into being a GT dom then Ineos is the better option.

True but I dont think we can slate him for that it's not like he is prime Cancellara or Boonen, he may actually be more suited as a stage race strong man

I certainly think shoe horned is a strong term looking at previous results

He's not going to be a leader.
